1st Gen Magazine Sighting

my first post on this did not post, here's another try: forgive me is this ends up as a duplicate, but this is important !

Browsing the local Borders mag rack - autos - came across the May 2005 issue of "CLASSIC CARS" ( a British mag ) and lo and behold, a 1st gen (appears to be an 85 GSL-SE due to the special wheels) on the cover. However, its not the beauty shot. Butif go flip to page 87 they offer the ULTIMATE MAZDA RX7 Buying Guide !!

They have a 4 page spread on what to look for when purchasing .

Finally the 1st gen may be getting the respect from the classic car lovers it deserves! (it being in a British mag and all).

rush out and get yours now, but I'm warning you now- its $9 for a mag !!

they are very positive about the car:

"a very rare sight today"

"there can be no more then 500 left in Britain but interest in them is gfrowing all the time"

"there may only be a dozen (in excellent condition) in the UK that could fetch this knd of price and these will appreciate in value". price in pounds of 4000

The UK site mazdarotaryclub.com has a background story on what it took to film the RX-7 article.

If its from the UK, I think they all came on an -SE chasis with the wheels and suspension and crap, but they had the 12A.

RotorMotorDriver. You got it wrong way round, the US got the series 3 with the choice of two engines 12A 'gsl' and the 13B 'gsl-se' for those used to heavy large engines! The UK got the series 3 as a 12A with some 15% more power than the gsl.

The Japanese of course got the best series 3. the 12A efi turbo 'GT'. It was parts of this model which were varingly used on the 84-85 export series 3s.
