1st Gen Headlight problem

Removed and replaced the front bumper on my 1st gen, now the headlights won't pop-up or come on. Checked all the connections and everything is plugged in as before when lights worked perfectly. Won't open with opener only switch either.
Any ideas?

check the fuseable links under the hood. if you turn the knobs to open the light will it kick back or can you open it 100%? if you can open it your not getting power(fuseable links). also turn on the headlights and see if the light turns on. they have a fuseable link for the motor only and 1 for the lights only. if the lights dont turn on then look into a switch or wiring... maybe unpluged

one of theose little metal rods might of bent in the process so you might want to check that out

Fusible links first. Replace the nasty wires with the new plug in fuse type.. (search the forum for threads on that). If that doesn't work.. check your wiring. Did you unplug any harness connectors. If so, Triple check all the connections. I had my entire car torn down and when I reconnected all the harnesses, there are two connectors located on the passenger side, near the headlights, that fit together perfectly, but they aren't supposed to. One of them goes to some weird headlight washer, available only on canadian cars. They are exact fits, but they don't go together. When I unplugged them and replaced the fusible link, everything was back to normal. Good luck.

Thanks guys! Checked fusable links-OK, Checked for bent rods-OK, Checked that all plugs are in correctly-OK. There is power to the relay on the headlight, but still the headlights and openers don't work. I'm at a loss?

I'm not sure ,but bare with me.... can the wires be burnt b/c with my old jeep my engine harness just like melted and nothing worked from there on out... so I might check that flip the up switch and try to smell somthing buring or check your fuses
