1st gen front breaking upgrade options? 2nd or 3rd gen swap
 

Hey guys I need a little help. I treys searching but to no avail. I need to upgrade my front breaks to a 5 lug/bigger breaks I have a set of 3rd gen calipers and rotors laying arround will those work? If not I see that respeed makes a 2nd gen upgrade for the first gen (my car is an 85 wide body) but I was just reading a thread that said they were out of business? Is that true? Any way I'd like to use the fd stuff if possible but if it won't work then I'll settle for cc stuff. I'm doing a ford 8.8 in the rear so the 5 lug is taken care of in the rear.
Basically I'm asking what my options for bigger 5 lug breaks are for the front? Please and thankyou!

Respeed is dead..don't waste your time and money. As far as what to do jow you can either have a machine shop make you a bearing adapter and then install the TII hubs and rotors and fabricaye a caliper bracket, or you can grind the first gen spindle, and use the second gen knuckle with the new hubs and rotors. It seems fairly straightforward, and I've been trying to get to this on my car, but my work schedule and family duties (playing daddy and hubby) are trying to stop me every chance they get and I haven't had time to do it.

If you are going to use the second gen knuckle you will need a tap and a drill bit to make them fit. It may also require some slight modification of the knuckle but I'm not sure yet. When I get to doing this I plan on making a write up.

Iirc the fd calipers will work just as well as the TII stuff. Same caliper brackets.

Yeah, just do the 2nd Gen knuckle conversion in the front to accept the 2nd Gen hub and caliper. Then you could modify that to accept the FD braking parts for the front. If you 8.8 Ford the rear you should be all 5 lug set!
