The 12a rotary turbo fuel injection is similar to gsl-se so it shouldn't be a problem to swap? The fc intercooler will be the one saying "rotary turbo with intercooler in orange "

The back decal i will have savanna rx7 on right, gslse and rotary turbo on left. Looking for Spoiler and body kit

Looking for these original logos that the savanna in japan came with.

The chassis i am starting with. Unfortunately is carbed with a holley and will restore it back to fuel injection.<br/>Use original paint with orange and white line trim, for the wheels i will use advan a3a 14"s with turbo 2 brakes orange/red?

Please tell me that your bank account is full of overflowing cash or your build time is put out to within the next 3 years, because it'll take one or the other most likely. I know this from experience, that's why I say these things. I'm redoing an N/A build and it's taken me over 2 years already. I love SE builds so best of luck to you!

Man, you don't want RHD. Your steering shaft will be right next to a big turbo exhaust and covered by a huge brake booster with an intake right next to it.... meanwhile on the other side of your engine there will be..... coils.

Just tell your friends its LHD because its a JDM postal delivery RX7

With a turbo, any porting beyond a street port won't work that well.

So far i got a factory mazda spoiler to bolt on, and want to do a brake system upgrade since i don't have any in the rear. will rx8 calipers rotor and disc fit? If possible I will use advan sa3r 16" or i want to keep 4 lug and 14 inch rims with advan a3a to have more thread and not worry about rubbing.

KansasCityREPU 01-29-17 11:40 AM

The RX-8 calipers and rotors might fit but you would need to design your own caliper and e-brake brackets. I haven't seen a RX-8 caliper. You would need to get one and then design the brackets.

It sounds like what you actually want to do is import a savanna turbo from Japan. The idea of converting a LHD US car to RHD is, frankly, silly in my opinion.

knowing these cars backwards, there are so many differences between lhd and rhd models, not the least the entire interior. RHD series 3 look more like your s2. Finding a complete RHD interior in Australia (the RHD country where 1st gens are most common) is virtually impossible. Little bits and pieces are hard enough. In Japan these bits are far rarer.

the badges you might be able to find by scouring Yahoo Auctions Japan but you'll need an agent to buy them. The decals may need to be custom.

then you'll need the entire rhd steering system, pedal box, brake booster and hydraulics, clutch hydraulics, possibly heater, definitely AC if you want to keep it.

the factory 12A turbo is too small even for a 12A. On a 13B it will be shit especially once had intercooler. The injection setup is completely different from the GSL one. Not suited a 6 port at all.

Regarding the factory spoiler, US models got a different factory spoiler from RHD markets too. The Jap ones are 1 piece rubber which are pieces of crap that fall apart from the sun. I believe your ones are 3 piece from memory.

we had a couple of different ones, the most common one seems to be the 3 piece though.

It's a dream alright and it will never happen until you learn a lot more about these cars and how they work.

The images that the OP posted are from a local CL ad for a RHD Savana turbo car. It was listed for about a year or so. I think that was the cheapest option; 8k if I recall correctly. I never saw the car in person, but it looked good in pictures.

8K is pretty good I think.

There's a reasonably ok looking GT for sale in Japan right now with 165,000km (around 100k miles) and a JPY1.2M reserve...around US$10-11K, plus agent/broker, shipping etc. See: ?60??????SA22C??????RX-7?GT?BBS... - ????!

The OP seriously should consider just importing one rather than attempting a hybrid-replica kind of thing. Can't imagine driving a RHD in a LHD country is much fun though.

Oh, and the thing with the orange writing is the airbox, not the intercooler. The 12AT didn't have a factory intercooler. If the OP meant using a FD turbo ii top mount and changing the writing, then I wouldn't recommend that either. Those top mounts are horrible even on FCs.

KansasCityREPU 01-30-17 09:28 AM

There was a RHD first gen import for sale not long ago. He wanted close to $14k if I remember right.

Rear brakes part 1

https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...4211233994.jpgI am going to buy a brake caliper rear right and disc rotor slotted on ebay.
I found this page on how to keep 4 lug and use 4 piston brake calipers. Where can I buy the turbo 2 brake calipers for the rear of my gsl-se? I tried searching on ebay and couldn't find any except front ones.

my 82 back in Australia had a 12a turbo swap.. fun car..

fyi.. I followed that aaroncake link and that is putting 4pots onto the earlier FC model...

Im in the process of making my own adapters and mounting the fc rotor on my stock gslse hub.. ( turn rotor off keeping just the hub)

I have a build thread with pictures.. got one mount made (not 100% happy with it) and am going to redesign and billet mill with a guy at work... I was originally going this route but wanted to simplify it... and didnt want to spend $200 plus on a kit that I can make...
