ahh bugger ... my laptop has S video in tho' so I'll have a play
|
If your laptop actually has s-video in, I think you may be able to get a converter to switch your vcr composite out to s-video so you could hook it up to the laptop. Which laptop do you have? Usually if a laptop has an s-video port it is for output, not input.

lumi, was it on speed channel or something? Videotape? I wanna see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
|
I bought the tape from www.dukevideo.com but when it arrived at my house it would'nt play because it's PAL format.
I e-mailed duke, and they refunded my money and told me to keep the video. I found a local place that converted it to (US Version) for $20. I working on my compilation video as I type this. Should be up pretty soon:D |
you rock my world.

Mike - S-Video to Composite (RCA) adaptors are quite easy to find, and will allow you to capture your video onto your laptop. I just hope you've got a nice laptop, 'cause video editing takes a lot of memory and processing power...
|
3Ghz P4 HT , 1 gig of ddr ram, 128Mb graphics card ,80 gig hard disk. I think that should cover it
It was an S video out anyway. |
ahh, well, the computer would've handled it, but if it's an out, that's not going to do you very much good...
|
There are some USB adapters that allow capture of video to computers. Since you can't change the video card and the S-Video ended up being an output port, this would probably work for you. Dazzle seems to be a big producer of these items.

yes , been having a look at those ... the ones with better resolution (higer than 320x???) are too expensive considering the very little use I will get out of it.
Might as well buy a second graphics card for my PC instead and pull it accross the network to my laptop for editing. should be cheaper that way |
