1980 RX-7 Car Restoration in Seattle, Washington
Hi, I am the original owner of the above mentioned car. I would like to have it restored and am looking for some recommendations for businesses in the Puget Sound Region that do this type of work. Can some of you make recommendations? Thanks. Scott

I believe your standard classic car shop should do you well. There is not really a place that specialized in rx7 restorations. Atkins Rotary will be a strong resource for you.

I second Atkins Rotary as being the first people I would get in touch with. If they are not interested in restoring the car, I'm sure they will know someone who would be.

"Restoration" is a very subjective term. You have two main categories, mechanical and cosmetic. Normally, a vehicle will require certain degrees of both but most shops specialize in one or the other. You may want to ask around in your local car community. Places that do quality, reputable work have good word of mouth advertising. You probably should have your own idea of what you want done. Do you need mostly mechanical (brakes, fuel system / carb) or cosmetic (body / paint)?
For originality and value, sometimes less is better when it comes to cosmetics. You may it difficult to find someone knowledgable when you mention "Rotary". But I wouldn't let that bother you unless your engine needs opening up to rebuild or fix a leak. If you do need major engine work, Atkins will be a your main resource as others have mentioned. |
You should post this in the NW section as that will be where the "locals" will see it and you may get better/faster responses.
Good luck and post us some pics of the car in payment for this advice. |

Thanks for the wonderful lead. I called Atkins and they recommended a guy in Portland, OR that does exceptional restoration work. The car is mechanically sound. Its the cosmetic part, I would like to have them work on
