17 inch rims odometer
I have 17 inch rims and my odometer reads hella fast I want to keep track of miles driven for oil changes is there any way I can calculate or recalibrate the odometer I was thinking putting it on 0 then track on my phone how many milwa will it give to one correct mile and then add that up I would like for it to work as it should |
There are no adjustments internal to the odometer. It's a mechanical gear train from the speedo cable which drives the odo; the rotation ratio is fixed.
You used to be able to buy different-sized drive gears for the trans end of the speedo cable, but that was a long time ago. |
What size tires are you running on those 17" rims. Aspect ratio of tire sidewall can have a large effect on final drive gearing.

225/35R-17 tires are the exact same diameter as the factory rubber (23.2") and your speedo/odo should read true. If those are too wide for your wheels's offset 205/40 and 195/40 are very close.
