17 inch rims odometer

I have 17 inch rims and my odometer reads hella fast I want to keep track of miles driven for oil changes is there any way I can calculate or recalibrate the odometer I was thinking putting it on 0 then track on my phone how many
milwa will it give to one correct mile and then add that up I would like for it to work as it should

There are no adjustments internal to the odometer. It's a mechanical gear train from the speedo cable which drives the odo; the rotation ratio is fixed.

You used to be able to buy different-sized drive gears for the trans end of the speedo cable, but that was a long time ago.

What size tires are you running on those 17" rims. Aspect ratio of tire sidewall can have a large effect on final drive gearing.

I believe these are your options.

1. Get a mechanical ratio device. This is based on percentage that you are off.
2 Use an electrical pulse driven unit.

225/35R-17 tires are the exact same diameter as the factory rubber (23.2") and your speedo/odo should read true. If those are too wide for your wheels's offset 205/40 and 195/40 are very close.

Click on the link below, plug-in old tire/wheel specs on the left and on the right plug-in what your are currently running. The chart below your current configuration will give you various clearances and what the change in speedometer readings will be will the larger tire.rim setup.
