are you using the 13B engine computer?

If you have an 86-91 2nd gen engine, then the wiring isnt very tough. You just have to study the 2nd gen wiring diagrams enough to know what you are looking at,and then its easy.

The big right side harness is plug and play from the engine to the ECU.

The left side harness will consist of about 12-15 wires that run the coils,ECU relay, fuel pump and the CAS(S4 only). This harness can be made from scratch pretty easily, using the FSM diagram as a guide. The wiring will originate from a 2nd gen underhood fuse box and travel out to the FC main relay, coils, fuel pump relay and ECU.....pretty simple.

The wiring for the gauges can remain stock 1st gen stuff. You only need to hookup a few sending unit wires for the gauge cluster to work, and the sending units are in the same place on pretty much all rotaries.

Bottom line, there is no reason at all to chop into the stock 1st gen wiring to do this conversion.Except for the battery connection and ignition "on" signal from the key,the entire 2nd gen EFI wiring job will be independant of the rest of the car.....essencially,it would run in any car,or even on an engine stand, with the type of wiring you will be doing.

so bassicly what your saying is that i realy just need the harness for the 13b to power the engine and the existing harness to power every thing else.

also should i use the under hood fuse block

You will need the underhood fuse block and the ecu that came with the engine you're swapping in. Of course those are only a few of the parts that you need from the donor vehicle. Going carb is an oprion and eliminates all of the wiring needed to make the FI work, choice is your's.

The wiring is not extremely difficult as long as you have half a brain and the patience to do it. It took quite a few hours to really get mine together and looking neat, but I solder, heat shrink and wrap everything in loom to make it look as factory as possible, so that takes extra time, but its done right....
I think the hardest part was trying to figure out where everything (wiring wise) went to without having a FC physically in front of me, once I got past that it was no big deal. Good luck.
