13b Lake Cities Carb with bridge port ?'s

I searched and only found 12a crap on carbs and little about 13b's running bridges

What carb setup would make most TOP END power for a 13b "average bridge" or Monster street port?

So far the Lake Cities manifold looks the best because there are no curves at all. Just short straight runners out of the engine block. What carb do I mix this with?

Kingofl337 12-22-04 06:17 AM

Racing Beat has a manifold as well.

Lake Cities manifold with 50 Weber DCO carb. 40-44mm chokes depending on porting.

I have the LC manifold with 48 dellorto on my 12a j bridge. Track use only car. 42mm chokes. Very Satisfied.

Thanks. Hey are the RB headers with straight pipe to muffler good enough for this?

Most probablly. The muffler needs to be low restriction so it won't constipate the motor. Preferably stright thru or with a slight bend. Mufflers that make the exhaust flow within it 180* then another 180* I would not reccomend.

On my bridgeport I use ISC stainless header, racing beat dual presilencers (same ones in their road race exhaust system) and a supertrapp with 23 5" dia discs. Not streetable but great for track days. Haven't driven by a sound meter, don't know if I'm under 103db :)

I hear Webbers/2 barrels produce higher peak power, but Holley's produce a wider power band? I have also heard of someone running webber and a holley and their strip times were slightly better with the holley, but I dont know how it was tuned, one compared to the other?

Hey there is this guru motorsports site that has 4 individual throtle bodies that Fuel Injected
Would this EFI setup be better for making more power?

DriveFast7 12-25-04 03:31 PM

Fuel injection will make more hp than carb all things equal.

4 individual throttle bodies will make more peak hp than 2 throttle bodies. And rev better too.
