12at with s4t2 manifold?
 
Has anyone attempted to install s4 turboII manifolds on a 12aT with blow through set up? Is it even possible? Before i'm ready to attempt a full 13bt swap, i'm curious if it would be any benefit to fuel inject it till ready. I mean why not, I have everything already, I currently have a turboII....I cant get the current carb set up properly and its constantly flooding. I'm not experienced at all with carbs and it driving me crazy. I have been a member for over 10 years, More of an observer:blush:, but unfortunately due to changing emails and passwords over the years I couldnt remember my old user name on here nor could i retrieve it. Thanks for any input in advance..

You need to post a lot more information.

Which fuel pump?
FPR?
Fuel line sizes for send and return?
Which intake manifold?
What type of carb?
How was it boost prepped?
Was it even boost prepped? And was it boost prepped properly? https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon11.gif
What mods to the turbo like a spacer and any mods to the wastegate or whatever? I understand the S4 turbos need a little help there.
How much boost you planning on running?
Do you have a carb hat and a charge pipe yet?
How is the FPR routed to see boost?

I saw in the other thread you're looking for a semi-locked dizzy. That's a good start. Do you own a welder? I've found you kinda need some basic tools to do a turbo install, like a welder. A flux core is cheap and can do basic jobs like dizzy shaft modifying. You also need a bench grinder and a dremel. An assortment of files (I only needed one fine round file that fits into the slot). And a drill press is nice, but a hand drill can work. Sawall etc.

Then there are the various jets and air bleeds for tuning the carb, whichever you go with. Ever rebuilt a carb before? Some basic skills really help here. They helped me take on the challenge.

Do you have a wideband? They are necessary, no, mandatory when you boost an engine. Otherwise you're going to pop it. Forget flooding, what about when it goes lean and you didn't know it? You'll know it soon enough.

Notice I didn't ask whether you have an intercooler? I don't have one yet because I'm just running stock boost levels for an S5 which is around 7psi, and 92 octane. Seems to work on an engine with 9.4 CR like your 12A. I'll get an intercooler eventually, but I needed to get the basics down first, which I feel I have.

So, as for the turbo II (Donor), It's a completely built reliable 400+hp car. I've had the car for over 11 years. As life moved forward the car itself as rotten away with time and no longer worth the time and effort to restore. So as I moved forward, I purchased 2 1st gens (83 GSL, Bridgeported 12a and a 85 12aTurbo wide body) Will post pics soon.

My issues are with the 12aT, the previous owner had no clue what he purchased (Previous Mustang guy) he figured he would pull the motor out and put in a 5.0 or something (Never happened). Heres what I can tell you about the car...

It currently has a 12a with an XS Turbo manifold and s4 turbo. holly carb 650 (Boost prepped, not sure) It has a Carb hat with full Piping and intercooler with greddy BOV. It currently runs at 10psi and holds nicely. My issues are carb related.... Constantly leaks, the previous owner was so proud of the "rejetting" he did. Car sputters like crazy, if left idling, it will stall out from flooding. I've rebuilt carbs, but always small engine ones. (Jetski's, gocarts, ETC.) I've yet to tackle an actual car related carb. Tools, I probably have everything except a welder..... I've always had a neighbor/Friend with one......

For the intake you'll need an adapter plate. There used to be a company out there making them, but nothing recently. There was one guy on this forum a few years ago that designed and had one cut on a waterjet or a CNC machine. Not sure how well it worked for him. He needed it to be thick enough to hold two primary injectors. Sounds like an awful lot of work to me.

Thanks for posting more info. As for the carb, I see you have a Holley. Sorry, no real experience with them. Maybe someone here will have some good advice.
