12a walbro fuel pump question

Hey guys i have a question.
I have a 13 turbo swap in my 1st gen rx7 with a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump. My motor just blew and i was planning on putting my 12a back in the car.

I was wondering if i can use the Walbro 255lph fuel pump on the 12a motor. Is there gonna be any issue with the stock pressure regulator or anything of that sort?

(i run a FC in tank set up and dont want to go through the hassle of swapping out the tank with the original 12a in line set up)

If you have any suggestions that would be great!

Thanks guys
-Marvin

Well, considering the walbro is a fuel injection pump, your going to have to change it. Fuel injection runs 35 to 45 psi average, where carbs are 3-5 psi. You can't just stick a regulator on the efi pump either, the pump will bite the dust. So unfortunately your gonna have to change back to the inline setup unless you can find a carb fuel pump that you can run in tank where your walbro is. Good Luck!

yes and no.... if you run a dead head reg. it's bad for the pump but if you run a return reg. you will be fine. People run fi pumps on blowthrough (carbed) engines.

Good point rotospeed, i forgot about that since most fpr's designed for carbs are dead head type...

cool thanks guys. i was being stupid and didnt think this out. I just have to disconnect the feed line from the walbro and put the 12a pump in to suck up the fuel. DUH! .. but i still have to drop the tank no biggie thougH! thanks guys
