12a Turbo feed

I know there is probably a thread on this but its easier just to ask yourself right hahhah. anyway whats the best place to get turbo oil feed from i was thinking tapping the oil cooler feed, that should have constant flow right, There is probably a beter spot sso what do you guys think

There's a thermostat in the FMOC so oil doesn't flow through the cooler until it's open. Not sure about the beehive style. Sounds like you would not want that. There are great builds here that are boosted that you can look at in the Builds section.

Would the RB Oil pedestal adapter, and tapping the front cover for the drain work.

Most people just drill and tap the front iron where the oil feed is on the later turbo models. You could probably feed from an aftermarket oil pedestal too, but would want to assure your feed is on the filtered side.

I think taking the oil from the RB and other pedestals gets unfiltered oil. Look up RAD Potential on YouTube. He's doing a four rotor and talks about where to get the oil feed and about the pedestal getting unfiltered oil.

Like KC said, most pedestal sandwich plates provide unfiltered oil. The route I went was to find an early tall factory pedestal and weld a bung to the filtered side of it. The alternative is drilling out and tapping the plug that goes to the front main bearing - I believe this is the factory oil supply location on turbo engines.

For the drain I just drilled and tapped the front cover, but make sure it's as low as possible without being below the oil level in the engine.
