12a turbo bonnet and BOV q's

ok, the orange bonnet that goes with the factory 12a turbo. a friend of mine just got one and it has two things attached to it. one looks an awful lot like a compressor bypass valve, the other one i have no idea about. (wish i had a pic but i dont, sorry)

the one i think is the BOV is mounted to the side of the orange bonnet, but does not connect to the inside of it. it has a ~5/8" tube on each side of it and what appears to be a vacuum nipple. sounds just like the BOV on my tII. the other thing is actually set into the bonnet so that it has access to the pressurised air. the portion visible to the inside looks like it has a pinhole in the center to let air in. on the outside of the bonnet, it has a black metal casing over it so i cant really tell. my only thought was pobbibly a pop-off valve, but with just a pinhole opening i wouldnt think it would work very well. there are no places for any lines to attach to it. it is just fixed straight to the bonnet itself much the way an O2 sensor is plumbed into the exhaust.

if anyone has one of these deals and could please enlighten me i'd be grateful.

the black round thing is a bov, the other thing bolted, but not connected is a idle air control valve

where does the BOV get its manifold signal from?
cause on my 2nd gen, at least, there was a vac line from after the throttle plates that went to the BOV so it would know when to let pressure out of the system.
if the black thing is the BOV, how does it know that i have let off the throttle?

dont know what an idle air control valve is for. =)

thanks for the replies.

i always thought the 12a turbos were carb'd like the rest of 'em. someone told me yesterday that they are in fact fuel injected. why is there a bonnet if it was EFI?
at least, it suuuuure looks like a carb bonnet anyway.

the lower intake manifold with the kit has three holes for the runners too. the inner runners share one hole, and the outer runners are serarate. it looks to me like a setup for a carb. thats kinda wierd to me as well, but i can get over it.

its a GSL-SE throttle body, 3 barrel, the bov has a small pinhole on the inside of the hat , when it goes higher than 4 psi it opens

So, doesn't that make it a pop-off valve, instead of a blow-off valve?

So ive got the 12at turbo bonnet. If I wanted to buy an aftermarket BOV, would I just unscred the stock bov, then run a hose (i want to make sure its away from my carb) and put the aftermarket one on? Does anybody have one they want to sell??
