Stock turbo 12a
How hard is it to get one of these? Is there somewhere you can buy the engine, or maybe just the turbocharger? Man, that would be a nice engine for a 1st gen.

i had one that i did up,wasnt too bad.I swaped it for a 13b turbo:)

thats gets them but since theres less of them compared to a 13b turbo...they cost a bit more and therefore not worth it:(

Actually, I have a complete after market turbo kit from the '80s made especially for the 12A for sale. It has the turbo, exhaust manifold, intake manifold (fits under the carb), blowoff valve, modified front cover etc etc...

a shop in ATL. Ga. had a few 12a turbo motors. i think it was mazda recycling or some thing like that. and they can get to be bad motors... a friend put a rayjay turbo on his 12a t. dynoed 263.8 with a blow throught carb not the stock f.i.. he had it in a rusted pos 79(EARLY) and it would break the tired loose in 4th. i bowed out of the race after i got him up to about 60 then he WAXED me and i saw him break the tires loose in 4th

They sell 12AT here the got there years f*%cked up tho and i dunno if they come with the turbo, manifold, etc.
