12a+ transmission value?

My boss picked up a complete fd drive train and engine harness/ ECM for his rx2. He is contemplating selling his current 12a drivetrain but wants to know what it's worth. I figured I would ask here any ideas would be appreciated he wants to sell his complete drivetrain as a set as opposed to parting it out. thanks again

Depending on condition and completeness (engine accessories), I'd be happy paying $800 for 12a motor/trans combo. With that said I've seen them go for anywhere between $400 and $1500. Really depends on how bad somebody needs it when it goes up for sale and how much effort the bossman wants to put into selling it (providing thoughtful, accurate, and pertinent information, doing compression test, taking video of it running before pulling it, willing to ship it, etc, etc...). Please keep in mind, that is my $.02 and I have been proven wrong time and time again in a court of law.....

Thanks for the input I'm thinking about buying it off him. But he wants an offer And as I said he doesn't know what it's worth, but neither do I

Its really only worth what someone will pay. There are a few running driving 12a rx7's for 1k and under in my neck of the woods. Compression test would be the deciding factor for sure. Do you know what he picked the new motor up for? Most people are just looking to recoup some of the costs from the new motor set...

Got one for $450 without the carb. I have videos of it idling and a compression test. Or can do one anytime you want. It's complete and I have the tester. Can't get $450. People try to talk me down. A 12A with compression numbers in the upper 90's - 95's can kiss my A$$. Motor will ROT here for less than that.

He pick it up for a grand Already swapped in just a matter of finishing exhaust I believe. He got it a couple years back and has had the 12a just sitting in his garage, it ran when he bought the car but was pulled shortly after. No ideas as to compression of the engine.
