12a low compression rotors
 

OK GUYS HERE'S MY IDEA FOR MY '84. I JUST BOUGHT 2 TURBO KITS FOR MY 12A. THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE NOW IS THAT I HAVE TO FIND LOW COMPRESSION ROTORS FOR MY 12A IN GOOD CONDITION TO FINISH UP THE ENGINE. THE REASON I WENT WITH 12A IS CUZ NO ONE WHERE I LIVE HAS THAT AND I WANT TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. MY QUESTION IS, DOES ANYBODY HAVE LOW COMPRESSION ROTORS TO SELL OR DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF ANYONE THAT WOULD HAVE SOME TO SELL?

Actually, to find 12A Low compression rotors is going to be a BIIAACCCH..

The 12A Turbo wasn't brought into the US. Try Japan, or our Aussie friends. The cost of getting those rotors alone might set you back more that you're willing to spend.

Realistically, - Run the regular 12A rotors, get a good ECU, and run Lower Boost/Richer mix. You should be fine.

If you have your engine rebuilt and then rage the sh*t out of it in the break in period, you will have a low compression engine before you know it. :)

There is at least one person out there running over 10psi into a stock, high mileage US-spec 12A :D (he is "boosted12a" on the Mazspeed forum) It's not really needed but you can make more power with the low-comp rotors because you can get more aggressive with the timing and/or run more boost.

If you really want low-comp rotors, last time I checked, Racing Beat has 5 sets in stock, I think they want $460 a pair or something. Hell that's cheaper than new N/A rotors! But you'll either need to source the correct counterweights (which they don't have) or have the rotating assembly balanced.

Yeah i kind of figured it wouldn't be so easy to find the rotors. I was going to run the us-spec rotors, but i want to run a little more boost. I use to have a fisrt gen with a 13b weber carb 48 ida with a t4. My best time was 12.0 with the factory drive train. I got rid of the car and now I'm building the 12a with 1 weber 48 ida and a t5. I saw the ad on racing beat, they want 450.00 for the pair. I thought that was a good deal myself.

That's very cheap, considering new standard 12A rotors are something like $350-450...

I had an ad on parts trader under wanted. I'll probably end up going through racing beat. Do you guys happend to have 1 weber 48 ida or know anyone who has one to sell?
