12a idle/porting questions...
Hi AGAIN guys.
Some questions will seem stupid, others will be stupid. Please keep reading. The setup Im going for 12a RB porting templates 13b-rew intake manifold and TB with an adapter Megasquirt ECU Staged injection Please keep in mind I´ve got separate intakes for primary and secondary ports Im going with a "mirror" finish from the TB to the injectors, then, a more rough one, for turbulance and atomization purpose. Will try to route all vacuum signals to the primary intake runner. IF I go with the same size of port on all 4 ports ... what kind of idle will I get? Will my idle be more affected by exhaust port than intake port? How much will performance suffer if I only port the secondary ports? I already have a turbo car with a clutch from hell, and Im trying to get a decent power for my "semi-daily" driver 7. All input is welcome. I´ve been reading A LOT here and over at nopistons... but I still have this questions. I wasnt unable to read something like "I did that and my car idles at 750" or "I did that and got XXXwhp" |

I would love to see your FI 12a. Pleas post your findings. I have been kicking around the same idea. What adaptor are you using to use the rew intake? Is it something custom? Are you planning on turboing as well? If I did it it would be NA.

Buena suerte! I will use the LIM secondary injector bungs with a custom aluminum fuel rail and will place the primary injectors on the adaptor plate. Down here those adaptors can be made for really cheap I wont go the turbo route. I will even let my old dist handle the spark... at least for now. Once I get the fuel part running the way I want I might get a CAS and run spark on the megasquirt. |

Sounds like a nice setup, i have done this myself, but with with a older 13B manifold on my 12AT. Turned out ok. I have lots of pics

Nice set up. Will you be using the 2nd gen distributor (CAS)?

My setup is very similar to norton's, except its painted in VHT aluminuim.
Megasquirt TII cas,coils,turbo,waterpump,intake manifold I have 12a tallport plates with have been "turbo ported", my engine is 1.5 years old and made 114.7 with a terrible intake restriction. I plan on making 230+rwhp 2000rpm earlier. Getting installed 2 weeks from Monday :shocking: :shocking: :shocking: |
