12a header that stay closest to block?

I wanted to keep the exhaust manifold for this engine swap that I'm doing but it sticks out way too far from the block. Does anyone know of a header that makes the bend pretty sharp or am I going to have to make one?

You might have to make one. Sharpest I have seen is the RB setup, streetable. Not sure the the streetable and streetport setup are the same.

Why would you want to make it have a sharp turn? Not too good for ezhaust flow to have a 90* bend right out of the housing, like the RX8.

It's not really about "wanting" I don't have the space for anything else. The unibody "frame" is right there

I might have to make a box like the OEM manifold and have a 3" pipe come out of the bottom rear corner of it. That may be better than making a header that bends too tight.

Thoughts on that?

What car will you be swapping it into? Also, since you have found the need to have a "short" so-to-speak header, do you have any pictures or measurements that you need?

I have the RB header on my car and can measure the distance from the block to the furthermost point in the header.

MGB about 3.5 inches max

You might have heating issues if you bend the flow too tightly... a lot of expansive cooling takes place in that first inch or so. May force you to go wide.

You might consider using a stock exhaust manifold from an FB. I think it will fit what your trying to do.

I think someone here has a rotary MGB? Or maybe its just an MGB. Not sure, I think his username is MG something.

Yep, apparently he has just an MGB. 64MGB is his name.

he said it didn't fit, that's why he's asking about headers, err housingers
