12a bolt-ons

i have a standard 12A '81 rx7. no work has been done to it at this point but i plan to start soon. i was just wondering if anyone can tell me where to start with the bolt-on mods.
i want it to accelerate hard but i dont really care if it doesn't have a huge top speed, on a counter i can't use it on the roads. i take her out to the track every once in a while but nothign serious. i was thinking of upgrading the carby to a nikki. how do these go.???? Then maybe an exhaust system.
sorry if it's a lil general but the motor is basically as it came off the showroom floor, no mods atm.
any help would be great.

The car comes stock with a Nikki. You could go with upgraded carburation, but unless you are going to port the motor, no poinbt in doing so. You can get equaly impressive hp gains from modding your Nikki. You could also do some sort of airintake, whether it be Bonez, Racing beat or CAI.

The Exhaust is a biggy. Go full racing beat, or atleast Racing Beat headers. Another mod you will want to look into is converting over to a second gen ignition.

If you are going to track the car, start with the suspension and brakes. If you can't turn or stop, there is no point in going fast. Once you have that sorted out, exhaust, carb/ignition mods, rear gears ( since you said top speed is not critical but acceleration is), then porting, which requires a rebuild.

get the front 3rd member out of a kia sportage 4x4...its bolt in and you will get some 4.77 gears from it. down side is its a open diff...get full exhaust, intake manifold and a nice side draft. you will have a fun lil car

He said simple bolt on!

Get a exhaust! Full RB is the best way to go. Depends on what type of sound you like if you like a deep brap brap brap of a rotary then Racingbeat is your way to go.

Next upgrade is your ignition, You can upgrade to the 2GCDFIS which is short for 2nd gen coil direct fire ignition system

then You can do a fuel system upgrade.

Those are the 3 main things that will yield you the most bang for the buck.

swaping the 3rd member is ez.. and it will almost cut 2 sec off 1/4 mile time :)
