12 a only pull starts
so i have pull started it wice know it runs fine but once its off it wont start again. so it wass all stock but been working on it for almost 2 years so its fully rebuilt weber 48 ida msd blasters stock distributor with working pods. what i dont have on it yet is a fuel pressure regulator so it runs really rich and the gass is really old besides tha i think the starter is begining to die, could thoose 3 reasons be why it wont start with the key
|
I would definitely change the gas,do you have the timing set right? Is the engine rebuilt or just the carb?is wouldn't have tried to start it with old gas, that could mess things up in the carb

so the carb wass getting very over flooded. we instaled the low presure regulator at 2 psi and this time it ran better, almost zero smoke coming out the exaust and it wass iddling on its own. so i pull up to the house and it turned off while i wass mesing with the clutch. so i tried to start it by key and like always it wont start. we looked at the spark plugs and this time they were dry the other times they were wet

You should test compression
|
2 psi is a sounds a bit low try 3-4 psi that might be why it shut off (not getting enough fuel) and thats why the plugs were a dry.
did it start off the key when you put the regulator in or did you have to tow start it? |
When compression starts to drop, either through age or from flooding, you need a strong battery, a good starter, and solid grounds and positive leads to spin it fast enough to build the proper startup configuration. Tow starting covers up a lot of bad items, because it spins the engine fast enough to start in spite of bad battery, starter, or wiring.
Quick test, but run a few tablespoons of Marvel Mystery Oil down the intake and give it a few min to settle into the chambers. Start the engine with the key and if it fires, it indicates low compression. The oil helps the seals to hold compression, which helps you rule out a bad starter, battery, grounds, or positive lead. If nothing is different, or the starter speed is SLOWER, then start looking at battery, starter, and wiring. |

Also check or just replace the battery cables.

Looks like you found the issue. Not sure how many miles you have on the rebuild it it might get better over time.
