1:1? Say wat?

1 ounce of oil to one gallon of gas = 1:1?

I've never heard of the stuff Nick. Maybe I'll check it out sometime after the car is back on the road. :)

I'm almost sure 1 oz per gallon is 128:1. I found my car running best on some Suzuki CCI 2 stroke oil. its quite a bit thicker than your TCW-3 oils found in the marina. even went up to Kawasaki's 2 stroke oil which was a 40W oil I realized. I ended up running 6 quarts of it no problems. but still ran better with the thinner Suzuki blend which was probably the closest stuff I have found to the Idamehtsu rotary premix or however you spell it. The suzuki blend is not terribly priced, plus if you befriend your local parts person at a motorcycle shop maybe he will give you a case at 20% off. I am pretty sure it was under $3 a quart at Cost +10% when I bought it last.

Yeah, probably what he meant. It just looked weird, since usually ratios are listed as 1:128 or 128:1 format. 1:1 would be understood as 1 oz of fuel to 1 oz of oil, which obviously doesn't work.

:)

Yep.

8 oz = cup, 2 cups = pint, 2 pints = quart, 4 quarts = gallon.

(((8*2)*2)*4) = ((16*2)*4) = (32*4) = 128 :icon_tup:

I saw that Quicksilver 2 stoke oil at Walmart when I was buying their inexpensive $10/gallon generic stuff. It was much more expensive, which pretty much ruled it out for regular use unless there is a substantial advantage in performance.

I got my hands on a bunch of that stuff for next to nothing. but was a bit reluctant to use it as I had always heard from the rotorheads on here that you would always want to run tcw-3 in your rotory. can anyone elaborate on the differences and the pros and cons of the two.

thanks

It might be worth it to me i have run it for about 500 miles now no cons only gain

suzuki CCI 2 cycle oil

one thing that I did noitice with the suzuki stuff was that it would turn my engine oil dark green very quickly, even right after an oil change. the suzuki stuff naturally is greenish. wasn't sure if this was normal, or if it was just possibly due to the fact my engine was getting worn out.

Whisper 10-03-10 09:26 PM

I'm not sure how a premix would get into engine oil. Premix is in the fuel, and engine oil never crosses paths with fuel.

If the oil control rings are bad or not tense anymore the oil along with gas can leak into the main system

Whisper 10-07-10 03:13 AM

So would that mean he's got gasoline in his oil?

Man_in_black49464 10-07-10 04:14 AM

yes and that could turn fatal if he doesnt change his oil at regular interval or sooner, if the gas oil becomes to concintrated it could spark blow off his oilpan and send everything everywere.

Man_in_black49464 10-17-10 09:18 AM

for the sake of my sanity has anyone else trierd this and had a noticable difference?
I really hope im not just crazy

Whisper 10-17-10 07:54 PM

I might get some and try it.

FIBREMAZ 10-19-10 06:22 AM

I think you mean 100:1 ratio not 1:1
Depending motor/porting etc you can get away with 200:1

Premix>crusty sump oil every time

Glazedham42 10-19-10 06:32 AM

When he said 1:1 he meant 1 oz : 1 gallon which would really be 1:128. Nevertheless, I haven't tried this stuff. I've got some AMSOIL Dominator oil that I've really been wanting to try out. If that doesn't work then maybe I'll give this stuff a shot.

Hey, is this the Quicksilver Premium or Premium Plus?
