[Question] FuEl PumP 12a > 13b
Hi friends a lot of you know that i gonna swapping my 12a with a 13b .
the work its over, now the last parts arrive from mazdatrix and then we put in the 13b into the car. but a big question i have, the FUEL PUMP of a 12a its ok? I have a Holley Carb , and a 13b 6 ports, can i use my 12a gas pump ? How much Rpm can i run my 13b with that gas pump? Where can i find a good pump for my new engine ? Must i change it? Can i use a common generic pump from maibe anothe car and use it for my engine? or must be a genuine rotary engine gas pump ? thanks a lot!!! |
I really don't think using a stock 3.5 psi pump for a 285cfm carburetor will keep up with a holley/6port engine. Remember more power needs more fuel. I would look at a Carter fuel pump and a Holley fuel pressure regulator, you are looking at around $100 for the set up from summit racing.

For you at what rpm can do my stock pump ?
pS: thanks very much for reply! its oki a generic delivering 6 psi @ 20 gph ? maibe froma old Ferrari ? or a common auto.. not a specific rotary auto.. |
Yes, any pump that delivers the required fuel amount will work. But you also need a regulator to keep the pressure constant.

Stock doesn't have a regulator.

Like sumoen above mentioned just check summit racing. for about 100 bucks you can get a new pump and regulator.

So, this is what you will need: Pump - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rt=CRT%2DP4594 Regulator - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...HLY%2D12%2D803 Gauge - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...HLY%2D26%2D500 PS - Thats the same fuel setup I used, and it works fine :). |
Thanks for the correction.
|
ahh thanks!!!!!! =) thanks to all 2 !
wow also the indicator of pressure, i think i will take that... only a question my car work at low rpm without all thise stuff ? why monday i need to use my car and dont think that the shipping is so fast ... for thise holley reg ,pump and indicator.. |
Yes, it should run without that stuff, but it will have some fuel starvation problems at higher RPMs. I used my stock pump with my Weber for about a month before I upgraded the fuel system, and it was fine. It just ran a little dry at the top of the gears ;).
