and just a couple more for insurance :)

and don't worry I didn't break down in the last picture there. I was giving out some rides for some spectators later on in the day, and decided to take a turn a little too quick and wiped out into the wet grass (about 2" of water still in there) and with my semi slicks I couldn't get out so I had to get towed out. But it was one of their buddies sitting with me there, and I had already gave them all rides at that time :)

j9fd3s 08-24-10 10:25 AM

yeah car looks awesome on track!

john smack 08-24-10 10:46 AM

Awsome pics and nice car man. I have been following your build for a long time now! Good job:icon_tup:

mikeric 08-24-10 11:54 AM

Beautiful!

Always good to see SAs and FBs on the track. I never see them in person, but it is good to know that they are out there.

Nice wheels too. Are those Kodiak?

dj55b 08-24-10 11:56 AM

Thanks guys :) Wait till next year when the supercharger goes on the car and then it'll be a blast on the straight away too. I figure with about 300hp or so I can probably shave off another 3 seconds from that tracks.

dj55b 08-24-10 11:59 AM

the offset was either 3.5" of 4.5", if you look up my thread about the rims (titled something like "My new Bling Rims" or something like that), all the info should be in there.

orion84gsl 08-24-10 02:40 PM

Awesome. How's the new suspension doing on the track?

dj55b 08-24-10 04:18 PM

awesome! ask Martin about the skyline that was slowing me down on the tighter infield :)

nick1 08-25-10 03:27 AM

awesome car man...i've saved a bunch of my fav. fb pics i've found on this site....and you car happens to be one of them....i knew it looked familiar when i opened this thread.

slowly but surely my car will get there.... :( though i'll probably keep it n/a

i'd love to see it in person someday. are you going to another track day soon? maybe cscs next month?

thunkrd 08-25-10 05:00 AM

why supercharger?

dj55b 08-25-10 10:03 AM

because I'm different, as far as I know, no one has done the rotrex charger on a rotary engine yet.

It would be nice to finally gave a modern charger on there. You guys will remember me as the guy that started the whole supercharger revolution ;) and then maybe our own section for chargers on the forum.

Kentetsu 08-25-10 10:06 AM

Looking damn good out there Sam! Just be sure to keep the girls out of the car so it will remain in one piece! :)

I was talking about the time I was showing off for the wife and nearly wrapped it around a tree. What were you referring to? :)

It is scientifically proven that placing a female in the passenger seat triples your chances of a mishap....

nick1 08-26-10 10:48 AM

this song is dedicated to your car

its just a sample. still working on it.

I'll play that in my car if you get it done and send me a file of it :)

nick1 08-27-10 03:10 PM

will do! i'll send you the .mp3 file when its finished.

will you be bringing your car to the sherway meet? or cscs next month?

ricerockettuner 08-27-10 03:56 PM

this might be a stupid question... but after putting my new carb, intake, exhaust setup i was pretty bummed about not popping any fireballs.... it would pop and backfire pretty good with my stock setup but the stock exhaust kept it from going all the way out the back. how do u make it backfire?

orion84gsl 08-27-10 08:36 PM

Backfiring is caused by unburnt fuel collecting in the exhaust and then lighting off. The easy way, is to run it rich. Of course then your wasting fuel and probably losing a couple ponies. Backfiring isn't really a great thing, it just sounds and looks cool..... *goes and puts larger jets in carb*

dj55b 08-27-10 11:14 PM

well its part of my throttle decel settings, its smoother shifting with a tad more fuel like that.
