Im looking into buying a wideband kit for my car, which is carburated and am wanting to tune it for best performance. Im wondering what you guys are using so hopefully I can choose a certain product, I have my eye on one companies product, just want to see what everyone else is using and how it helped them.

I use an innovate wideband and like it. Just need to make sure to buy the heat sink or you will burn out the sensor.

I ran the AEM UEGO wideband controller and loved it, Innovate would have been my other choice.

AEM UEGO here and it's awesome. No need to calibrate it and no need for a heat sink. It's all in the gauge with only two wire harnesses coming out of it. Very user friendly and cheap on eBay.

Which innovate product do you use, im looking for datalogging because I think its easier to tune the car by reviewing data than trying to drive and look at the afr guage at the same time

What 2 wire harnesses are there? Is one for datalogging? And you say no heatsink required, so it can handle rotary engine temps. How long have you owned your uego?

I meant to say there are two harnesses, one with four wires; for power, ground and two for datalogging or ECU hookup, and the other harness has five wires for the wideband hookup. Sorry for the confusion. Two harnesses, not two wires, but there are two wires for the ECU/datalogging.

My sensor is located under the car. Maybe you guys who put it just a few inches after the turbo might need to think about a heatsink, but I never saw anything in the instructions about it.

I've owned the UEGO since late '10 but have tested it briefly in two cars and it worked fine.

PLX AFR2 .. the ( multi display ) gauge will display lambda, petrol, methanol, LPG AFRs ....in trend ..something you wont get with the rest..
which is awfully handy for those guys with a carb.. but will also data log with supplied software

bonus is you can daisy chain many instruments through one or multiple gauges

very reliable unit .. very well priced and has features you dont get with other simple widebands

Lol I should have made people vote for different brands bcuz right now its looking like aem is in the lead. Im still doing some reading, so I havent made a decision yet, hopefully soon ill be installing a wideband in my fb

I am assuming you all have fb's also, do any of you have dataloggers with your wideband? Just trying to get an idea of how you all tune your vehicles

mine is FC.. not that it makes much difference as i am running a blow through lpg mixer ( carb )

the AFR2 is installed permanently
i have two EGT kits installed permanently as well
and a use my FC as my daily driver

again i will point out only this brand of wideband gives you an instant trend display option ..
a graph so you can see the AFR trends of last few bursts of power
-importantly without needing to keep your eyes glued to the gauge as you do it-

so catering for those without an ecu or a PC... carb tuners ..


( though the PLX AFR2 includes those features as required by those with EFI.. needing a simulated narrow band output and wishing to download the datalog to a PC or record it to their ecu datalogger )

with a PLX DM6 // AFR2 .. for a similar cost to most simple widebands
you are essentially buying the basis for a stand alone datalogging system
should you require to record, trend and log stuff like exhaust /oil /air / fuel temps and pressures later
the AFR2 system gives more options on display than other brands
.. and also has a "soft" warmup that wont kill the wideband probe provided you put it in the right location to begin with ( instructions provided )

I have an Innovate LC-2. Fast acting and accurate. And I don't need to calibrate it often. I can use it as a wideband or narrow band and It's a standalone unit. I can get into it and tell it what type of fuel I'm using and make it talk to anything. I would recommend it to anyone.

I really appreciate all the input guys, ive been reading and reading several companies products and reviews. I was interested in a certain companies product, but with some feedback from you all, I have turned my attention to another company, and im really liking what I see. So please keep adding to the thread because i havent purchased anything yet. Ill still keep looking till Im set on buying, who knows I might change my mind again.

Well I finally bought a wideband.
Ended up going with the newest aem wideband out it is the 30-4110. It has the newest sensor the lsu 4.9, needing no calibration.
It also has the capability of hooking it up to a laptop for datalogging.
Dont know how I managed without one all this time lol, I definitely reccomend that everyone add that to there needed parts for there cars.
It will help you tune your vehicle to its full potential.

Where did you end up installing the sensor? From your sig, looks like you have a similar exhaust setup.

Looking at the AEM with Bosch LSU4-9, but the info from Bosch says up to 930°. I have a streetport 12a, RB header, and exhaust temps are supposed to be around 1200°+. I see guys here using the AEM. Any issues with the heat???

Mine is under the car near the trans drain plug bolt. Never any heat problems this far away from the engine. A wideband has it own internal heater so it's fine back there.
