Ok, I'm finally going to buy new wheels for my SE. I am set on one of two styles and wanted some opinions. The first one is the Konig Hold On, and the second is the Touren TR3. The Konig is my 1st choice, but I like how the Touren gives an almost stock SE wheel appearance. My budget is 600 for 4 wheels to my door, which is why I'm kind of limited. Let me know what you think. BTW--My SE is silver.

Yeah, they are nice too. After looking at some more wheels I'm now undecided about the size. I always thought 17's were too big for our small cars and just didn't look right. I was thinking to go with 16X7. What do you think? Those Rota wheels are certainly priced nice!

15s IMO are the middle ground as some cars like Kentetsu's look awesome with 13s [13s right?] and then like RotarX7s look great with flush 16s and ZG flares. All about preference and what you're going for.

Might also want to think about tire choice. I have no idea what width my 15s are as they are completely unkown but I run a 205/55/15 which is about the same circumference as stock but I rub the sway bar and fender liner as well it sits barely inside the fender and about a fingers width away from the strut.

Pic attached is my car [the rusty one] with 205/55/15 in the front and a 225/50/15 in the back. To me they look a bit "monster truck"ish but they work.

As far as what wheels to get, I say Rota RB and Konig Rewinds are a definite choice, granted they are starting to become very very popular amongst first gen owners but there is a reason, they look good, they fit well and they aren't expensive.

When considering price, I noticed the Sport Edition wheels on TireRack.com are nicely priced like the Rotas. What about American Racing Estrellas?

Those wheels look sweet electric man! May I ask what size tires you have on those wheels and if you had any clearance issues? It seems that 215/45/16 keeps the speedo almost dead on compared to the stock SE wheels, but I'm not sure about clearance.

wheels are 16x7 +40 offset with 205/50/16 Yokohama s drive tires . i have about a 1/4 clearance on the front struts and no rubbing anywhere. could have gone with a larger tire in the back, but wanted to be able to rotate them

Speaking of the Estrella's, that what i'm using. I don't have a pick of them on the car but i did mount one for testing and the do look awesome.

Ah, come on man, don't tease me like that. I would love to see a 1st gen with estrellas. I went through every page of the 1st gen photo thread and didn't see anyone with these.

Is there anyone out there that likes the konig hold on wheels? I'm really torn between these, the estrellas, and the konig britelites.

Yeah, they are nice, but I can buy a set of four for the price of one Classic.

I dunno man...rewinds are sick. I got them for my 7 a couple years ago and wow...i didnt realize how good they would look. Thats before i started doing my research and using this forum...so you know they have to look good since i didnt even have a member tell me to get them lol

So far I narrowed my choice down to rota RB's and Konig Britelites because of cost and bolt pattern availability. Anyone else have an opinion? Also, is anyone using bigger tires in the rear (same wheel size)?

me personally I like old school meshies look. right now I'm rocking redrilled vert meshies

I guess it all depends on what "you" want and what suits the car. If everything, I mean "everything", is stock than stock looks best in my opinion.

If you've done a TII swap, suspension, etc that the factory rims look either forgotten about or you ran out of money.

Thanks for all the input so far. It really helped me make my decision. It looks like I'm going to go with the Konig Britelites. I saw them on Ebay for sale by buywheelstoday for 113.00 each + 11.88 shipping. Anyone know where I can get them cheaper?

Thanks 84stock. As of right now, I'm set on 16X7's. But I just looked at a set of VOXX 17X7 that a friend of mine gave me just to try and they look good too. I always thought the 17's were a bit too big for our cars, but I guess it depends on the wheel. I still think I'm gonna go with the 16X7's. Now I have to figure out tire size so I don't rub anything. According to electric man, 205/50's don't rub anything on his SE, but I want to go as wide as I can on the front and clear everything. Any suggestions? BTW--my 7 is an SE.

Ok, can I get some confirmation that 16X7's would be a good choice? Anybody recommend a different size for specific reasons?

Thanks ray, but I'm looking for a more modern look, not wanting to go back to 1980. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead driving a car with 13" wheels----not to mention a sport car.
