I was able to take break the line loose using the torch, from there the rear end swap went pretty smooth. Now I need to change the axle bearings, I am getting a little bit of vibration from one side.

Last week I learned that Mazda still stocks basically all the fasteners (bolts/nuts/washers) for our cars. The Factory parts catalog calls out part numbers and you can just order them from the Dealer. Amazes me that the basic fastener part numbers remained the same and are used on all of Mazdas modern cars.
For example, I ordered new bolts and lock washers that attach spindle to lower control arm/steering knuckle. Bolts were $3.50 each.
Hard to beat for perfect fitment OEM quality. I spend too much time matching up hardware specs and hunting down metric fasteners at fastener supply stores etc.
Dealer will hate me now, constantly ordering random hardware in strange quantities.
Pulled out the rear end(thank god this thing had a disc brake rear). Also pulled the propshaft, hope to find a GSL propshaft somewhere soon. Need to get the wheel bearings done as well. Would like to get a bunch of T3 stuff while she's out but that will have to wait as I need to be able to get this thing off of jackstands soon.

6 hrs with wet n'dry sandpaper, and 6 more with a drill and polishing kit. And that is just for one rim!! When I bought the car in 1990, there was black oxidation covering 1/2 the rim. So 28 years later , I decided to do something about it. This is the boringest thing I've even done to the car. Now I know why criminal thugs have such shitty running cars with nice rims. Only thing fun about it, is that I use the apartment's laundry room from 2 am to 5 am to sand and polish the rims. If the management found out, they'd have an aneurysm!

Polishing those wheels is definitely a job, since pretty much the first thing you have to do is sooth out the machining finish that Mazda left on the surface. I did a set over a decade a go - I don't recall exactly how long it took per wheel, but it was a week to do the whole set and repaint the insets.

Does anyone know where I can find some rear axle shafts for a GSL-SE rear end. I seen one website that claims they have some OEM availble for around $423. Can I use one some from a different car? Or can I have some custom ones made?
I had a GSL-SE and some guy clipped me on the side while merging into my lane. The car ended up slamming into a barrier on the passenger side. Which caused the passenger side rear axle to bend. I am going to remove it soon hopefully it is just the bearings that are ruined.
I installed the rear end on a 83 GS that I bought but my passenger side wheel is wobbling. So for sure I either need new bearing or both new bearings and a axle shaft.

I want a reliable 300hp, larger brakes and 5 lug. Swapping an entire S13 front suspension into the car and a Ford 7.5 rear axle. It will be a little heavier overall but these engines have been known to be indestructible at that power level
new right front brake caliper. now I know why it is recommended to replace the rubber brake hose. because they can twist up. had to loosen the brake line and rubber hose after installing the caliper in order to remove the kink.
so those professional auto mechanics aren't full of **** all the time, never would of believed it!!
Front wheel bearings last week. After reading and investigating torque requirements for these and reading a myriad of other people’s opinions in forums... in the end good old fashion “feel” prevailed. Perfect!!! What a difference too.
Drove it to work! Saturday I finally fixed my fuel delivery issue and was able to drive the car a reasonable distance for the first time. This morning I felt confident enough to navigate the highway traffic.
