War of the Wheels Fb Episode

Warning: This is only a teaser!

Finally, after waiting for several months for the reruns to cycle through again, the episode involving an Fb build broadcast this morning. Now I only have to get it off my PVR and into a small enough file for you guys to view.

In case you have no idea what I'm jabbering about, War of the Wheels was a Toronto produced 1 hr long show where two teams had three days to rebuild a pair of near identical cars. The final products would be judged on appearance as well as performance. Instead of the usual drag race, the Fbs in this episode competed on an actual race circuit.

To my knowledge this is the only show along the lines of Monster Garage or Overhaulin' that features our car, really a jewel of a show and not widely seen outside of Canada.

Stay tuned!!!!

Thanks!

Any possibility of getting a higher quality vids?

statique 08-17-11 02:00 AM

that was a very good video

jim_chung 08-17-11 05:47 AM

I hear you Directfreak. These files are about 125 mB in size but the video quality is much much better. You can increase the window size with VLC significantly and not bring on pixelation.

Great show, thanks for sharing! Although it hurt to watch them tear apart two perfect interiors like that. Hopefully they went to someone who needs them rather than a dumpster.

PS I wonder if any of those guys are members on here?

RX-7 Chris 08-17-11 10:43 AM

craaaazzy 08-17-11 12:32 PM

What will play this under windows? The usual windows media player chokes on it.

I downloaded the lower res ones and they don't play in standard Xp windows either.
Not a videophile, so don't tell me to load some other crap software but thanks for the
suggestions.

Maybe I'll upload to picassa and see if it converts it something I can view.

probaholic1 08-17-11 01:26 PM

VLC player works great as well as GOM player

Very cool episode. Thank you for the upload

probaholic1 08-17-11 05:09 PM

Yeah, just finished watching it. Like it, was very awesome

boltispibe 08-19-11 05:24 PM

I'll have to check this one out.

I saw an episode where they rebuilt a 240z... it was cool but a bit too much for my taste.

The guy that painted the yellow car is Joe, a second gen owner, sn classicauto. Chris is/was the owner of CP Racing. My understanding is they went out of business or closed up. They had a pretty bad reputation.

I thought I heard that in the video too, when they introduced him at the beginning. It must be an old episode. Great show though.

So I guess this show busts the myth about needing to break-in a brand new engine? Considering this engine was rebuilt, ported and had a turbo added to it and then it was raced the next day.

Break in a motor the way it's going to be driven.
