sorry firebird666

does anybody know if there was a dealer option for a electric sunroof I just bought a 1983 rx7 I believe its an S model but has a electric sunroof its sunbeam silver with a black interior only one crack in the dash its in the usual place right above the instruments and had S3 seats put in sorry fire bird I know you want a sunbeam with black maybe when you get to Boise I can help you find one
for those of you who keep track this makes 7 rx7s now
pics to follow after I pick up the car

My first 7 was an 83 S model that was Sunbeam Silver with black interior!!!! Haha I still have it. I'm rebuilding the 12A in it. Mine has no dash cracks though and only has some ripping on the drivers seat. The headliner is kinda getting tears but it still looks great, even though it's been sitting for a year. I miss driving it though and I know it's going to be a while before I get to again. I have to wait until after we move to Boise before I can start rebuilding the motor(Gotta save for the move.......dammit!!!). I'm going to try and clean up all the parts and make sure everything is in spec and I'll try and do my porting before we move though. That should speed things up with it. But then I have to either come back to MD and actually get the car(can't afford to bring it with us when we initially move) or have it shipped(either way it's about $1k). I'm going to replace whatever I can though before it goes back on the road. It'll be awhile but I'll have my SA to keep my First Gen addiction going ;)

cool maybe it won't take as long as you think and you'll be driving her again this one I bought because there are no issues with the title my other 83 was repossessed and the title is kind of cloudy about who owns the car so this was my fix for it for now until legal issues are settled my 81 needs front suspention work so I bought this one so that I can restore the 81 back to compleately stock even have the stock clarion tape deck now will just need stock speakers and find some waffle rims for my son so I can get my + rims back

I hope it doesn't but I'm going to take my time and do it right the first time. I still need to finish prepping my wheels so I can paint them, buy tires, have them mounted and balanced, and finally on my SA LOL

mazdaverx713b 07-21-08 09:14 AM

there was never an electric sunroof put on from the factory for an SA/FB

axle 07-21-08 08:03 PM

didn't think so but had to ask

FirebirdSlayer666 07-21-08 10:47 PM

I would imagine it could have been a dealer option. It could also be a retrofit from another vehicle. PICTURES OR BAN!! LOL

axle 07-24-08 11:04 PM

working on the pics camera is down so is my monitor so I am posting this from a friends house I picked up the car today some of the interior is from a S3 and looked at the build date 6/81 so its not an 83 its a 81 I have never seen a sun roof like tis one before so cant wait to show pics hopefully tomorrow

Rx-7Doctor 07-24-08 11:06 PM

The "S" model did not even come with a sunroof. It was the very base model.

FirebirdSlayer666 07-25-08 07:54 AM

The S model still had optional sunroof. Not to mention the dealerships installed sunroofs as well

axle 07-25-08 07:14 PM

thats what I thought too but you can tell its not a stock sunroof just wanted to know if possibly was a dealer option
