except for the sun, the bay area is the best place in the world to have a car. i bet you could wash the bottom of that car and all the bolts on the bottom would still be gold
|
Yes, this would be a good oppurtunity to invest in a rare model rex.

Don't know about the whole bolts still being gold thing. I mean we still get some salty air from the bay, but for the most part cars stay in pretty good condition out in here in California if they are taken care of.

TWO questionable engines??? And a dash cover seems to suggest a bit too much time in the sun...
I smell money pit.... Makes Dave's Gold LS a STEAL by comparison. And of course the usual crappy Craigs photos don't tell much of a story other than the car was at least washed. Buyer will want Boots On The Ground before committing to....what?? Stu Aull 80GS Alaska |

Stu Aull 80GS Alaska the engine part i liked though, 2 engines means you probably end up with 1 good rotor housing.... and besides in CA they almost ALL leak from the dowel pin. i think i've only had 1 12a's that didn't (out of 6-7), which is that nice red SA you saw @ sevenstock |
Seats are not original, are they? All US 80's had one-piece high-backs, IIRC; three different styles (vinyl, plaid cloth, leather for the Xth anni) but none with separate headrests.
Look to be FB seats. |
Thinking more on this, I remember seeing leather-only seating repair pieces in the 80 fiche that would work for a separate-headrest seat design, specifically for the Xth anniversary cars.
No seat details, though - just the skins, and the leather was specified as having to come from the US. Maybe the Xth Anni leather seats were another port-installed item, for tariff reasons? Completely not sure on that one. |
