So, if you won $35k from Lotto, what would you buy?

OK, You just won $50k in the Lotto. You've paid $15 in tax, so there's $35,000 left. You still own your daily driver.... what car would you buy?

I'd keep my 1st gen of course, but would consider, in no particular order:

1. Shelby Cobra replicar (427 body, but small block engine).
2. Prowler (99 or later with the 260 hp engine).
3. 67 Vette convertible (just stylin' in the coolest car ever made).

Single turbo 400hp+ White FD

MaX PoWeR 02-07-08 09:31 PM

hmm i would get myself a low mileage M3 E30

sp00led 02-07-08 09:32 PM

a rabbit gti from 1986 and a lancia scorpion

Druken 02-07-08 09:32 PM

Tax is 45% so you'd get ~$27,500.
I'd probably deck out my first gen and make it around 400hp.

7SpringsMisfit 02-07-08 09:38 PM

a gun to kill myself

BlackWorksInc 02-07-08 09:39 PM

Hmm... Lets see $35,000?

Well about 6-10 grand for the crashed RX8 from an insurance company. (lower if I find a good deal like that 2007 with 4074 miles and the auction closed at 6 :) )

Then probably a good 3-4k for the turbo & intercooler set-up another grand or so for a new oil cooler and radiator, another grand for the body kit, a couple hundred for the framing metal, and donor FB front end to weld on from the firewall foreward. about $500-1000 for custom HID pop-ups and converting all lights to LEDs, 2k for the Defi Blue Racer Gauges. Another $2000 for 17" rims with 255/40/17 Falken F425's on them. About another 500 or so for a good 3" exhaust; about 8k for the Teins in front and the Ford 9" or maybe larger in back with good shocks and springs, another 2k for Sparrco Racing Seats and 4 Point Racing harness, On last grand for the sound system/information system for the engine, car, ect.

And last but not least a couple grand for a New Mac Air with Leopard and all the stuff i will need for Industrial Design...

Leaves me with about 2k to play with! :)

Of course these are just rough estimates, actual prices may vary.

Kentetsu 02-07-08 11:56 PM

I'd buy a section for the forum that was just for things not directly related to technical questions about RX7s... :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

Are you coming to the meet in Holland this Saturday?

Zyrano 02-08-08 12:10 AM

um... I guess I'll be the only logical one here, put a downpayment on a house....

clbsinvaders 02-08-08 01:06 AM

A bunch of first gens.

And a Nova or early Chevelle/Malibu. Maybe skip all that and build a personal shop.

Can't make this one; I'm in a bowling tournament. Looking forward to hiting some this year... hopefully with the turbo finally installed on the FB!

kansei 02-08-08 08:31 AM

No question.

I'd import a Series I Cosmo Sport.

Neal.

glewsRx 02-08-08 09:00 AM

I'd start with 365 pairs of white socks so I could wear a brand new pair everyday. After that, idk

datsun1200 02-08-08 09:08 AM

I would put a downpayment on a house and get a gforce2000 for my pop's datsun 1200 and put a 20b turbo in my 1gen and body work. The house wont be a mansion i would get a very nice rambler.I think its good for a single man.I know ill get it with four bedrooms i will have kids one
day o and a big ass grage.I think you guys will think im craze but ill work

MetaL- 02-08-08 09:30 AM

I would pay someone to do all my bodywork and respray my FB in my OEM color, Tornado Silver. A streetported 13B-REW with a GT35R, GSL-SE rear end, and a set of sportmax 002's. The rest would go towards a house with a garage.
