Should I or Shouldn't I

Hello All -- I just posted in the "Introduce Myself" forum so I hope this is not too early to ask for some advice. As I said in my intro I am considering the purchase of a beautiful '85 GSL. About the car:

85k original miles
Except for a small bit of paint on the hood, a flawless body
Immaculate -- and I mean like brand new -- interior
The doors close with a Porsche-like "thunk, the strut holding the hatch open smooth as silk
Everything works perfectly -- original radio, lights, a/c, etc
You get the idea

About me:
Not the DIY type, but am fastidious about upkeep and repairs (I've had tons of old cars)
It will be only car -- and I don't have a garage or carport, which means exposure to and driving thru the elements
I work about a mile from home, so it won't be used all that much

I only got to drive the car briefly on a dark and rainy night in the country road -- owner didn't have it insured. But he is a collector -- mostly Corvettes (had a concours split-window '63), but also had a Ferrari 308 GTS in his garage.

Asking price is $3500 -- and he'll deliver it.

So -- considering my situation, any opinions? It's so nice I feel like it would be a shame to "spoil" it. Thanks -- from Jeff in Nashville

I was asking questions about a 1st Gen I was thinking of buying. If it was posted in the wrong Forum I would have liked it f someone had just informed me of that.

first of all ... welcome to the board. :)

secondly, the thread was deleted because it was not technical. it had no technical content, and it also had the potential of being considered an ad. i suppose it was partially a brainfart on my part, because i could have just moved it, like i'm doing now.

So much for enthusiasts helping each other out.
melodrama aside, it could have been handled better, but it's handled now.

Thanks

I appreciate your reply -- I frankly didn't know where to post that as a new member. In any case it's all moot now because the car sold. It was quite a beauty -- but I couldn't drive it much, I don't there were any records -- but to have kept a car in that shape and not have taken care of it doesn't make sense. Oh well -- hopefully it went to a good home. Thanks.
