Take it to the track with the kids riding in the back seats, and then you will see it's true purpose. :)

ok, i own an 05 RX8 with a 6spd and i can tell you none of my 7's, even my 10th AE TII stand a chance against the 8 in a straight line. my 7's are all stock. looking at the RX-8's performance numbers:

-0-60-5.9 secs

-1/4 mile-14.5 @95.6mph

-top speed- 148mph (electronically limited)

-skidpad- .90g

-60-0 braking- 114ft

with numbers like that, the 8 is a pretty quick car that accelerates, corners, and outbrakes a lot of cars, especially our 7's. now with some mods our 7's can really keep up and in many cases out accelerate an 8. with the minor mods that you have, i dont think that you would be able to out accelerate an 8. i wouldn't say your car would be slow, but that it probably would not be able to beat an 8 in a straight line. perhaps the driver of the 8 was not up to par in his driving skills.
