AAHH!!! I cannot wait until the 16X comes out. I especially cant wait untill someone stuffs it into a first gen, that will be sweet

We'll see how much water this holds. there have been many "new rx-7" threads, i'm going to wait to hear from Mazda.

that picture from the second link better be the rx9 and not the seven. still looks like a fucking grocery-getter

Yeah until you hear it from Mazda themselves, it isn't happening. The 16X will more than likely go into a 2nd Gen RX-8 around 2011-2012. I would still love to see the RX-7 go back to the basics of the SA/FB. Basically make it a coupe version of the MX-5 with the current 13B-MSP in it. It would weigh the same or LESS than the Miata and would handle like nobodies business. Price it between $20-$30k and it would be golden

I would also love to see Mazda design a small car around the rotary again. My first new car when I was 20 was a 73 RX-3. Sure was great to leave a light next to a 240Z. Never lost. I think I paid $3895 off the show room floor. I couldn't afford the $4500 MGB GT I really wanted (Thank God). We always said Mazda should put the rotary in a sports car. We didn't know they would stop making coupes and sedans at the same time.

If there were a Mazda 3 type car designed around the rotary for a similar price, my daughter would be driving it instead of a Scion TC. I have a feeling the tuner crowd would go crazy over it. It would take a minivan with a rotary to please my wife, but that would be pretty cool too. We can dream.

a minivan with a rotary, i think that would please everyone ^^

also think that that photo better not be an rx-7, i wouldn't want to drive it, it resembles to much the cars of today. To me rx-7s alwayse stood above all other cars in design, with exception of FC, which looked alot like porches, but all others where an still are unique.

Hope mazda sticks to thouse traditions.

Ya, if it is going to look like the picture(s) then I will be greatly disappointed. Looks like a damn Cadillac CTS.

Yah, too edgy. The -7 needs to flow.
