That flange looks pretty tough.

Rx-7Doctor 07-24-10 11:01 PM

From what I can tell it looks like the same flange that Racing Beat uses so perhaps that is what Rene is using.

Rene is an excellent fabrication guy and looks like he is supplying some sweet parts. He is always open to suggestions about what we are looking for so don't be afraid to contact him and let him know what we would like.

I'm just curious as to the performance of this header?

mazda1200 07-24-10 11:42 PM

I had used them they work good and there lighter then racing beat once..

Rx-7Doctor 07-24-10 11:59 PM

Thank you for your input. Do you know if Rene has done any Dyno testing on this header?

Can they make a collected flange?

PercentSevenC 07-25-10 05:42 PM

First impression is that the design looks extremely similar to the Racing Beat uncollected header. I'd bet it'll perform similarly, but weigh a little less and allow a little more noise leakage. It'll also stay looking nicer over the long term.

Stevan 07-25-10 11:07 PM

The RB header runners turn right at the flange, this looks like it would flow better.
That price is great!

j9fd3s 07-26-10 12:27 AM

oh i didn't know rene was rotary works, he's a really cool guy

thunkrd 07-26-10 02:04 AM

i've been eyeing this..

Hyper4mance2k 07-26-10 03:01 PM

Looks like Rene copied the ISC header. That header is almost identical to mine.

Stevan 07-27-10 01:26 AM

There isn't really too many ways to make it look different. 2 inputs, and 2 outputs in the same location. Like percent said, it looks like the RB header, or I say looks like the RE header, or you say looks like the ISC header. Though you're right, it does look more like the ISC than the others. If many of us had the ability to fab a header, I don't think it would be much different than that. I like the long sweep of the rear runner on the Mindtrain header.

Hyper4mance2k 07-27-10 03:58 AM

I have owned all 3 RB, RE, and ISC headers and each is clearly different from each other. As well as each making drasticly different amounts of power.

mikeric 07-27-10 09:35 AM

They seem to do a lot of titanium stuff. I wonder if they weoul be willing to make one ont of titanium... now that would be original.

Hyper,
On the ISC, doesn't the rear runner go to the out side on the exit flange?
Could you post some pics of your ISC, I'd like to see the ceramic coating you had done too :)

These are the only photos I've seen of it.
Edit, couldn't post the 2nd pic, it's in here:http://iscracing.net/garage_sale.html

Good point I didn't even notice that. On the ISC, RE, and RB header R1 goes to the inside.

Wish I would've known about this header before I bought the ISC one would've saved me $200

Stevan 08-11-10 02:28 AM

Looks great.
Looks like the ISC has one less bend on the rear runner, but one more on the front one, compared to the Rotary Works.
I'd like one with the ISC rear runner, and the Rotary Works forward runner :)
That price on the RW is crazy.

nuredbaron 08-11-10 06:14 PM

Why can't they make one for the 12a :(.

Hyper4mance2k 08-12-10 01:40 AM

because Mazda no longer makes replacement 12A rotor housings. Time to go big block! LOL!

thunkrd 08-12-10 11:40 AM

lol 13b is big block hahaha

diabolical1 08-12-10 08:48 PM

i was aware of his throttle body, but i was not aware of his header. i'll have to look more into this.

Green Lantern 08-17-10 05:05 PM

I have an RB header similar to this, anyone know if this one hangs down any lower than the RB unit?
think it'll bolt up to my 2-inch tubing RB dual pre-silencer ok? bad for flow for header 2.25" primaries going to the RB center section? bad enought to negate any gains from the new header?
