Rotary People tell us you jobs...
hmm. lets see, I'm a 18 year old highschool sudent working a part time job at the local Yamaha dealer. Just talked with the owner of a race shop yesterday said once the business starts picking up i have a job there
I am a Mechanical Analyst. I am the problem solver and tell companies when their large 10,000 HP gas compressors are failing. Nothing like being next to a 60,000 HP gas turbine or a 10,000 HP reciprocating compressor pumping Ethylene to 40,000 PSI.
I also am a private pilot as another hobby.

I am a assintant supervisor at a plastic molding company I am in charge of 6 75 ton thermal forming presses making trays for cookies cakes candy and so on and on and on. It can get frustrating especially when something is not working like it should but the money is good and they still let us work over time.
I was a mechanic for ford till i got laid off. I got another job 3 months ago working for a local coin op vendor. I am the pinball guy and repair pinball machines. Its always been a hobby. I used to have three machines in my house now i have ten argh will it ever end

Hey Ben, I'm an old school pin ball wizard, started out when I was 13 years old up at the soda fountain in Bunker Hill, Indiana (yes this was back in the mid '60's, they still had soda fountains). Anyway, some "old" guy hit the glass in the lower right hand corner and put a crack in it, which was small enough that they didn't repair it. So with all 13 years of my experience I figured out that I could slip a thin piece of card board in there and repeated push down the wire in the 100 points exit channel, wracking up enough points for a lot of free games. This went on for several weeks until the card board dust started to build up and they found me out, but by then I was hooked. And this also predicted my future addiction to rotary engines.
Anyway, I just wanted to ask, is there any market for used glass from the tops of old style pin ball machines? I have about 10 pieces in my back yard, all the same size, very thick with beveled edges. What does the glass cost to replace if purchased new? Are they a standard size or different for different machines? These may date back several decades, they were stored in an old barn.
Nice occupation you got there, I'm envious! Rotor Heads sure are a diverse crowd.

no market ray new glass is 30 bucks tempered and beveled. While i can respect the older games i just hate electro mechanical pinball. On the other hand i did just pick up a tommy pinball the other day.
Looks like you could use some glass there Ben, what's shipping to eau claire? And yeah there's nothing like a real steel ball to kick around on flippers that only sometimes work and all work differently.
Oh yeah, what's our work?
I continue to be an RX-7 repairman (mine) and professor, the fools tenured me so I'll be doing that for awhile.

I had just got done shopping that pin and putting it back together. The owner said it yours for 1,200 so i went to the bank and snatched it up. Most of pinball machines are in the 5,000 range. Clear coated playfields etc. I restore them to better than new.
Oh yeah gotta take glass off for good pic's
See that pin in the far corner. Its one of 10 ever made prototype machine worth upwards of 30k+
Video games are for suckers and noobs. Pinball is real in front of you they all play different even the same machines.
Go look up kingpin on internet pinball database to see what i mean.

I am a patternmaker for Caterpillar. I am the "CNC guy" for the department. We build, repair, and make engineering changes to the equipment that makes the molds and cores used to cast the engine blocks, liners, and cylinder heads for CAT engines.
Sorry, not a piston hater -- piston engines pay for my rotary addiction!

I work at a local bank. It's a very good job for a college student like myself. It pays for any parts I need and hopefully will pay for a Sunlight Silver Metallic RX-8 sometime in the near future to compliment my Sunbeam Silver GSL-SE.
