Rotary Engineering "Rallye 13B" engine package

So this is really grasping for info. Does anyone have any information/details/specs on the 225 hp "Rallye 13B" turbo alternative engine from Rotary Engineering (was out of Santa Barbara, CA). Claimed to create a 5.8 sec in 0-60. Based on an ad I have that is from 1983.

Thanks for any info....

i will try to scan the catalog, but the basic gist is:

engine is a 13B, built from all new parts. its a 4 port 13B, built from pre 86 parts. so 12A style side housings, probably Rx4/5 rotor housings, and the 74-85 13B rotors. its balanced with a 23 lbs flywheel, sounds like a GSL-SE one. its built to the competition specs, so hardened gears, locked rotor gears, etc.

the rallye port is a street port, with some runner work. it came with the twin weber 36 DCD intake system and a set of headers.

its 225hp@7000rpm and 170lbs feet from 5000-7000rpm. dyno is at the engine, and not the wheels

Thank you. I did find some information after searching the forum more. Wondering how to determine if that is what I have in the car we found. But it does have an added turbo, which I saw was an option in the article I read. The papers that came with the car had clippings from Rotary Engineering and some other paperwork for some other items from them. It's our 1st rotary so things aren't as easy for us to recognize straight away. Also had the brake conversion and from what others have said, the owner spent a lot of money on the car back in the day.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...af21ee18ca.jpg

Interesting car, looks like it has a slush box as well. What carb is on the intake? Is that a draw thru or what?

It is a carter 4 barrel carb. I am not familiar with a slush box (still learning). Can you elaborate? There are a few things on it that we are trying to figure out. Quite sure it was set-up for racing, (drag) when the work was done.

I see, automatic. Yes it is an auto but it has a gear lock for launching. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...8879088c7c.jpg

It was sitting since 1985, found it like this.

Is that a GIANT fuel filter? or is it another oil filter?

You might want to add a fan at some point.

It has two oil filters and a fan is in front of the radiator.

the turbo was an option, they don't really say a lot about it, engine is almost the same. turbo is 319hp @12psi.

Your posts are a bit old. But can you say whether you got any more information on the car? Your engine does not look like my Rotary Engineering engine or the ads for the "turbo alternative engine" ads.

What do you want to know? Dr. Wayne Graham (founder of Rotary Engineering, as well as the dude who developed the ports for this engine) is one of my clients that I work with on an almost daily basis, and I work out of Mariah Motorsports'/Design Energy's (body kit in the photo above) old building for various personal projects.

Edit: Oh, just saw how old the OP was. No wonder I was surprised I hadn't seen it before all these responses. Oops. :P
