Replacement Alternator/Generator

I purchased a remanufactured A/G for my 1981 Rx7 GSL a year ago. It now sounds like a bunch of loose nails in a can when under load. The pulley is also wobbly and the fins were scraping against the housing. What is the best buy for a replacement for my car? Thanks

Sounds like you may have the pulley nut loose or a bad alternator bearing. If your not comfortable working on those parts, a rebuilt one can be had a RockAuto.

Thanks Kansas City. Took pulley off. Nut was plenty secure. Pulley was fine. Checked fins for warping and placed an extra washer behind fin to prevent contact with housing. Reassembled and took for a test. A couple of blocks out, same noise but on inspection, it was not the fins. Bad bearing. That pisses me off especially since I've only
had the Bosch remanufactured unit for about a year. Only drive the car during warm weather. Rock Auto has an AC Delco and Remy brand that I am considering.
Not familiar with Remy

Replace the bearing.

K C, decided to spend 60.00 bucks and put in an hour of my time to install a new one instead of messing around with the bearing.
