Rebuilding SE throttle body?
I've searched both google and the forums and couldn't find anything, has anyone done this for an SE? Mine has some play in the shaft and the coolant inlet is eaten away. Cleaned it up some and oiled the shaft (heh), but I worry that may be causing some idle issues still. Don't have $200 for a nicer used one, however, if that is my only option then it can wait.

ive heard of people doing it, its kind of involved, you ream the throttle body and make some bushings, kind of like an SU carburetor rebuild.
there is no kit for this, you are on your own |
If the TB is corroded such as you say,any effort in trying to repair the throttle shafts would be short term due to that corrosion.
Recommend save your money til one in better condition for a reasonable amount of money is located. Are you DD this car? |
