Dude - I open your post and see the picture of your perfectly gorgeous low-mileage FB and think "what's he doin' gettin' rid of that!"

Then I page down.... you are forgiven. That SE Turbo is special.

Congrats!

Let's hope the buyer of your calendar-celebrity RX-7 is on the forum. If not please get him on.

very nice score.

Not a big "mods" fan but I think you stepped "up" a bit with the Turbo. (and that is saying something because the other is a beaut) It must HONK! Nicely played.

Thanks guys.... I've been wanting a turbo 1st gen for like 5 years. This should be fun!

Directfreak 09-10-10 10:49 AM

Wow! A true Cartech Turbo first gen GSL-SE!

Really rare, really beautiful!

When you drive it, you are going to say,

"This is how the GSL-SE, should have come from the factory."

Do mind if we ask how much? (you can PM me the answer if you want)

Leave it as is, and don't Molest it. It's really rare!!

Congrats!! I am truly Jealous!!

I SEE WHAT YOU MEAN!! - Definitely worth it.

Reminds me of David Lane's old car.

pjr 09-10-10 11:53 PM

Yes, I plan to keep it clean and unmolested. The original owner had it all these years and kept it in great shape. I plan to do the same. It has a front spoiler --- usually not my bag -- but this one looks ok.

Kentetsu, autocross will be in the future! This car is prepped and ready to go.

pjr 09-10-10 11:55 PM

P.S. Is David Lane still around? I tried to send him an e-mail a month ago but it bounced.

I got the car last Sunday.... wet up in Battle Creek, as I was attending a work retreat, and he trailered the car from west of Chicago. returned home just Friday afternoon (yesterday) with the new ride.

OMG these things are fast.

Direct Freak, you are 100% spot on when you stated "This is how the GSL-SE, should have come from the factory." It's so fast from 20 to 50 mph...like being shot out of a cannon. I now know why you guys love turbo 1st gens!!

jtspells 09-18-10 07:21 AM

Went from one amazing looking FB to another, i am jealous very nice!!

OneRotor 09-19-10 05:42 PM

Looking good! Congrats on the find. You should have kept your old FB as well, because you can't ever have too many clean FB's.

Jimbo II 09-19-10 07:40 PM

Super nice

dbragg 09-19-10 07:48 PM

I loved your old SE, and hated it when I saw you were selling it, mainly because I couldn't buy it ;) I would say you definitely upgraded! This is a great find, and I am sure a lot more fun.

whitey85mtu, you might want to update your signature,
and remove the reference to an FB Group Buy.

From your own link, as far back as June 10.

Well I have some bad news for the FB. :( The headlights will not fit the FB because of a depth issue. The headlight buckets are extremely shallow and fold down completely flat against the frame rail behind them. If they were to fit you would have to take a hole saw and punch a hole in the center of the headlight bracket continuing through the sheet metal of the frame rail. While this is doable, most people will not want to punch holes in their car and as a result we may have to drop the FB HID option. We are producing them for the miata as there is more room in the bucket to fit the headlights, but we wont specifically offer them for the FB because of the required hacking. If you are still interested we could make them available but as far as modifying your car to make them work you would be on your own. It looks like it would be possible to make them fit with modifications but it's far beyond what I would consider selling as a drop in "kit" . Sorry guys :(
