Now that's a clean GSL-SE.....

I saw this car when it was first listed, it was @ $1,000. I thought if this car goes for less than I paid for mine I'm going to kick myself. Within two hours it was at $3,500. I feel better now. I can't imagine what the final selling price will be, but damn I need to save those engine bay pictures for inspiration.

wow very clean

Vashner 01-27-08 12:13 PM

Garage kept fer sure. That sun likes to bake the 7's to dust.

That's insanely beautiful. Are those the stock seats or are they covers?

+1 on the inspiration, I have something to shoot for now.

'84-12A-GSL 01-27-08 07:11 PM

Those are stock leather seats...exactly like mine :P

bad 83 01-27-08 07:27 PM

Nice, very nice. I would like to find a clean interior like that in a S3, so I could rip it out and put it in my 83 Turbo GSL. That's pretty wrong of me, isn't it? But seriously, I hope someone gets that car that will appreciate the original unrestored condition that is in, and leave it alone. That is one you just don't mod. Drive it, love it, leave it stock...........

:o 5 days to go and it's @ $5800 already! wow!

that is a beautiful SE!!! i have an 84 GSL in sunbeam silver metallic as well with only 55K original miles. i'm not interested in selling it by any means but it seems that nicer cars like these are increasing in value. mine will not be as valuable as the SE on ebay since it is not an SE and does not have leather. here are a few pics of my 84 GSL:

Nice GSL.. that's very close to production of my 84 GS I bet... Have you signed the registry?

81gen1 01-29-08 10:37 PM

damn that GSL is clean!!

rearviewmirror 01-29-08 10:40 PM

I wanted a GSL, an '83 actually because I don't like the 84-85 interior. The '83 GSL is the car to have in my book. Now I'm stuck with a low mileage GSL-SE... blah. :D

man that gsl is really sharp but it bugs me to see so much carbon accumulation in the engine bay. i gurantee you the previous owner knew slim to none mechanical wise on that car...

there's no carbon in the engine bay. what you're seeing is undercoating. the whole car is undercoated from front to rear. its done an excellent job preserving the car. i touched up a few spots from where i had jacked the car up to replace the clutch. and no, the previous owner knew absolutely nothing about cars and had no idea what he had. the car was severely lacking in maitenance. i got the car and changed the ORIGINAL air filter, fuel filter, clutch disc, throwout bearing, pressure plate, pilot bearing, i rebuilt the clutch salve cylinder and master cylinder and replaced the hose. the parts that i changed and the tires and oil and filter which i also changed(saw a recipt for a recent oil change using 5W30 uughhh) are the only non original parts on the car.

mazdaverx713b 01-31-08 06:22 AM

this is how the car was shortly after i brought it home. i immediatly pulled the car in the garage and pulled the trans. i drove the car hom with a disgusting slipping clutch. here are a coupls of pics:

and this is what i found when i pulled the pressure plate and disc:

good job man. now i can see the underspray lines. sweet ride though man!

rearviewmirror 02-02-08 07:21 PM

The car is up to $7500 w/ a few hours to go.. I wonder how much the final bidding frenzy will yield. If it hits $9k it'll be exactly 3x what I paid for my GSL-SE w/ the same mileage! :D

mazdaverx713b 02-04-08 05:18 PM

went for too much.....

Vashner 02-04-08 06:12 PM

I don't think it's too much. I think 1st gen prices hit rock bottom last year. Too many are rusting out now.

pjr 02-11-08 06:21 PM

$8000! You have got to be kidding. I would have paid like $6000 max.

I should see what my SE will bring. Cripes.

RX7 allnight 02-11-08 07:05 PM
