NOS score today!

I found this awhile ago, maybe 6 months, but honestly I figured it was a mistake. I've found racing beat strut braces listed at $75 but without fail, when I call, it's something they sold long ago and they had just never updated the website.

Yesterday I decided to give them a call and see what was up. I was informed that 'Yes', it was available. It had been in their inventory since the early 90's. It was also marked down from $208 to $108. So without pics to go by, just his word on what the box said, I ordered it. I hope it shows up and I'm not disappointed.

Oh... What is it? NOS, still in box, Kamei front air dam.

Score!

Soon as it arrives I'll post pics. Told them to look around and see if there was anything else Rx7 related collecting dust.

Is this going on the silver one?

mazdaverx713b 09-27-13 02:27 PM

wow!! if it all goes well and is delivered without breakage, you are a lucky man for sure!!

Jhereg 09-30-13 10:55 PM

No, going on the yellow/black one. Least that what I'm leaning towards now. Picked up some side and rear pieces, going to see how it looks all together and make a decision.

You should make a mold of it before installing.

Yep, I agree with what DF said.

rotaryjunkee 10-07-13 07:56 PM

Yes make a mold and make more of them and sell as a group buy

Jhereg 10-07-13 08:54 PM

Don't know the first thing about making molds. I did send an email to both kaminari and Racing Beat (they still sell a couple Kaminari pieces) seeing if they were interested and RB said no thanks, no word from Kaminari yet.

Is there a chance this piece would be ruined during the process of making a mold? Anyone got the skills to do this? I'd donate my piece to the cause as long as I can get it back in good condition so I can use it.

highnitro12187 10-09-13 09:31 PM

wow that is beautiful, i have a coworker that has made many molds, ill ask him what it would cost to do this.

dirkrx7 10-10-13 03:44 PM

Awesome!!

dougingraham 10-10-13 05:38 PM

I would need to see a picture of the other side to be sure but I think it is too complex a shape to pull a one piece mold off of. It might be possible to do it as two pieces which are then joined. Can you see any joints?

What material is it made of?

Cookboy 10-10-13 06:21 PM

^ High impact UV stabilized co-polymer material. ABS plastic. It's a beauty.

Redliner223 10-10-13 09:04 PM

I hate you and I would be in for a mold copy.
