New seats installed....
My wife gave me these seats for X-Mas "06 and they have been collecting dust in the garage because I have been to busy working out all the bugs on the TII install. I finally gave in on Monday night when I saw spider webs on them so I got off my lazy ass and installed them... BOY was she happy I finally did something with my X-mas gift.....:hahaha: Maybe she'll buy me more things NOW.......

That looks really good!
Did they just bolt in there? |
Looks damn good. Yea tell us more about model and install. Also how comfortable?
|
that looks damn good man, i'm also curious about how the installation go? was it a pita? or just straight bolt on?
|
those look sick. I'm with every one else, more info.

Thanks for all the kind words....
They were from Procarparts.com. She purchased them for me when we went to the HIN event in Miami as they didn't want to ship them back to Cali after the show so we got a REAL good deal on them. DEMO seats for the show.. LOL As for the install, it was a bolt in affair as the Miata seats I had in the car were pretty much set up with the same dimensions as these were so I was able to use the same seat tracks that were already in the car. I got real LUCKY.... L8R |
You should of put those in a while ago. They look great, and doing so would've been more appreciative of your wife. You may have killed future car gifts you would've gotten. Either way, they look wonderful. Congrats, and Merry Christmas. :P

I haven't driven the car since install but just from sitting in them they seem to be comfortable. They are also narrow enough that the side bolsters don't hit the doors or interupt the opening of the center console AND the stock seat belts can still be used.:icon_tup: L8R |

I wanted to wait till I replaced the carpet and I also was kinda hesitant because of the fab work I thought was needed to install them BUT to my surprise they bolted in right away with NO fab work needed.... Guess I need to thank the spiders for putting webs on them..:Wconfused .. that was the final straw of seeing them sit in the garage... BTW... the wife loved the way they looked and was GLAD that I finally installed them.... L8R |
^^ haha that's hilarious. oh and man, i think i'm in love with them seats lol j/k. are they light weight?, cuz that would be an extra insinuative to buy some seats like those lol. :)
|
LOL ...yes I did....
I weighed them prior to install.... 21 lbs each and the Miata's were 26 lbs each.... L8R |
What were the height and width measurements, nice seats man
|
I know if anyone is looking at getting seats like these, F1 Spec makes a similar seat that bolt right onto our existing brackets for our seats. it's beautiful.

Much like lwnslw's, it fits really well in the cabin, and it sits very snug. |
Hey guys I had a 83 gsl when I was in high school and it had in seats from a mx-3.
They where very sporty and gave you that "sit in" feel like in those 86 corrola, but the slider was out of the mx-3 and did not sit that straight, but with the "sit in" feel the setup yeilded a lot of head room. Im 6'1" and with the stock seats in my 84 gsl-se I have about 2 or so inches free space above my head. I have a friend who took those skinny(skinny bottom) yet very nice seats out of a dodge conquest and mated the stock rx7 slider to them very cleanly to avoid any extra bulk hight but they still sit you high in the car. So I think that no matter what seat I get if I use the stock sliders my head will still be seeing my headliner ........Now after all of that my question is how tall are you? and what is your head room clearance with does new seats? (if we can make a comparison) thanks |
