Touring, Are you currently running those RWL Bridgestone's? Did they come on the car when you got it? I'm asking because these are the OEM tires that came on 79 Limiteds and 1980 LS model Rx-7's. Maybe they came on 82 GSL's too, I honestly don't know. Is the spare the same? They are cool to have but could be risky to be driving around on 30+ year old tires. I'd check the date codes and maybe get yourself some new tires for daily, normal use.

If that old, these should be saved for shows and slow speed driving. Windshield washer tanks are still available new and used. Nice car BTW.

Very pretty Touring! That's a really nice unmolested example, looks 100% original. Got any under-the-hood shots?

I also have a spare windshield wiper tank and would be happy to donate it to such a worthy project. PM me a mailing address if interested.

You may want to go out and give the two nuts that hold the cats to the intake manifold and the two others that fasten the cats to the midpipe a good spray down with PB blaster and let them soak a day or two. That will give you a head start on removing the cats so you can put that race pipe in.

To do that job you want the car securely up on blocks with good access to those nuts, chances are you'll need to give them a bit of encouragement with penetrating fluids, a nice tight fitting wrench or socket and a breaker bar and maybe a propane torch if they really put up a fight.

Nice eye. Those are the original tires LOL. The spare is the same too. I almost wet my pants the other day coming down a steep hill with a 90 degree turn..... lets say i ended up backwards inchs from a mail box. i could never do that move again if you paid me LOL

Good advice!! Our 82 came with the same tires from the factory, they finally let go after 29 years and 25k miles. the rears still have lots of tread remaining. Nice car by the way!!

That's what I'm talking about, Although original tires are cool, you can't treat them or expect them to treat you like a new tire. Rubber deteriorates over time too and they can let go without warning especially when pushed a little too hard, even if it's a brand new spare. Sucks worse if it causes actual crash damage to your pride and joy. That's why they should be treated as display things.

Po bought the tires and then put it in storage. I'm going to get new tires soon. There's about 90% thread left
