so this was my first autocross event in my 84 gsl-se. It was super wet and raining and fun as hell. I removed the rear sway bar and that alone mad it so much better. I have all stock suspension this but i have the front coil overs at the house from respeed. cant wait to get the rear and all four struts and go back. heres the time laps. http://www.sfr-solo.org/solo2/Result...h/round05.html

looks really fun!

Autocrossing in the wet is a great way to work on your car control at a safer speed.
Usually they require you to have your windows rolled down in competition but I bet they allowed it in this case. Your car would have flooded from the looks of the weather there!

I love racing in the rain! Takes away the horsepower and tire advantage, giving a fairly level playing field that you just can't find on dry pavement.

Get those parts installed, then try it again for even more enjoyment. You're going to want Respeed's front swaybar too, and once you get that you can reinstall the stock rear bar and it won't mess you up anymore. :)

yea it said 1 fun lol i was late in the season so was i just raced for fun and no points. next heat will be in feb so i should have my re-speed coil overs on by than and tear it up. I spent all my suspension money on xmas :/ The rain was super fun to race in and really got to see the limits in a safe environment  the last fun lap was a very drifty lap haha

Car is 95% ready for action. Should be all set by the time of the 1st race, just need to install a few more bolts on the body panels and install the passenger side headlight and tail light. Looking forward to racing with you when you aren't driving Nissan Versa rental car! :)

Cool man!!! When we get a little closer to the MI trip, we need to make a plan of action to get more folks out to race!!! If I am gonna drive 2600 miles round trip to race.... other folks can drive "way" less than that to race!!!

lol, I've got about 5 races worth of video that I still haven't done anything with yet. Never enough time with a wife and kids, full time job, etc. :)

I got the Re-Speed swaybar and it did not fit right and required modification. Now it is touching my radiator and will require further modification. Everything else from Re-Speed worked out pretty well--except this. Maybe it is because I have a GSL-SE?

They have them at the Oakland coliseum and there's some coming up at great america early February. Check out this web site for the schedule, www.sfrscca.org, www.baautox.com

All you really do is show up with like $50 and you get like a day pass if you dont have the scca license. I was surprised how easy and laid back it was. It really helps to learn the track if you can ask some one for a ride along before

I hope i can get my suspension dialed in before than. I have a two day weekend and theres been some good sun shine lately :icon_tup:

Can you post up pictures of where exactly its touching? I too also have it installed on my car with no issues.

Have you contacted Billy about this?

drive_4_thrills 02-06-11 10:32 PM

Yea id like to see some pics of that sway bar too. I am getting ready to purchase the front re-speed sway bar and i too have a gsl-se. But i need rear springs and colars to be ordered first lol
