My car loves Nyquil?
Not really, but I finally took 20 minutes of my time to set up a proper premix so that I do not have to worry about measuring--at least for the next 24 fill ups.
Step 1: Buy a case of your favorite pre-mix oil (mine happens to be the Nyquel-colored Amsoil Saber) Step 2: Buy a case of 8oz water bottles Step 3: Drink the water in the bottles and save the bottles and caps Step 4: Leave the caps off for a afternoon to dry out the bottles Step 5: Use a funel or measuring cup to fill the 8oz water bottles Step 6: Throw a couple in your glove compartment and use one per fill-up (you may save and re-use the bottles) Step 7: Repeat as necessary Yes, I'm that bored sice I do not have my car right now :( http://i768.photobucket.com/albums/x...le/RX-7116.jpg http://i768.photobucket.com/albums/x...le/RX-7117.jpg |
Not a bad idea :)
I used a water bottle I just kept filling up, but it eventually leaked out. Now I use this: http://i32.tinypic.com/2gvuc6a.jpg |
Very cool, that'll end up with a lovely explanation if anyone ever goes through your glove box.
I need to look up getting like what Jeezus has, I've got the link from that bookmarked somewhere but right now just buy the Marine Master Pro 2-Stroke [Smells like rotten fish] which has the measurements on the side. |
I like the hand pump. Where did you get that from? Does it leak at all?
Darren, Use Amsoil or Lucas (the pre-mix stuff not the oil additive). I was using Lucas for street driving as it comes in handy 6.4oz bottles, and Amsoil for track days till I realized that it is almost the same price if I buy a case of Amsoil and do this. The hand pump is a better idea, but I will worry about that in 24 fill ups. |

I would but unfortunately I'm broke 7 ways to sunday so I just pick that stuff up at O'Riellys and it seems to be working alright but I'll look into it. How much is it for a case of Amsoil? |
8 oz to a fill up eh? Ive been running 1 oz to the gallon, roughly 13 oz per fill up (13 gallons just above red empty line), which works out to 128:1. If you want to run 100:1, just add 16 oz (half quart) each fill up of about 13 gallons. I guess it depends on what ratio you want to run. At 8 oz to a fill up in my car, the would be 208:1.

~T.J. There are a million threads about this so without turning this into a debate, you are running silly rich on oil. Thanks for the link above. Amsoil is anything but cheap. There are gallon jugs of Lucas Premix which really are not that expensive, but you probably have to order them as I have not found anyone who carries them. |
only 8oz per fillup? I do 16... Mazda injects 100:1 at WOT on 12A's only making 102bhp. considering i'm making more than double that in my 13b i'll stay on the safe side.
