More legendary 1981 Spa Rx7 ......

Every Sa/Fb disciple needs to read this article from the February 2016 issue of the excellent Motorsport Magazine. Especially those young'uns who weren't around when the events transpired (myself half included).

No better testament to the inherent strength of the stock factory Mazda rotary and chassis.

Excellent article, thanks for sharing! A great read to start off the new year!

I'm really confused here, help me out guys!

I see 76 views of this thread but only 10 views of the attached pdf??

So only one in seven people reading this thread feel compelled to read the article. Why????

Do you know how few cars made have real racing heritage, and from that small pool fewer still can boast racing victories? If you own a Sa/Fb, you own a part of that history. If you want to remain ignorant then you're frankly not worthy of belonging to this group.

Thanks for posting that. Great read.

Great read!!

I read it Jim, who cares if some don't. Its their loss.

This is exactly why I bought my used SA in 1983. I wanted the same car that had won not only
SPA but many SCCA events as well. I'll never regret not getting the GSL-SE.

You're right, I need to live and let live.

Thanks to all who expressed their appreciation and all that took the time to read the article.

Is it this magazine?
F1, Sports, Road & Historic Cars & US racing - Motor Sport Magazine

Yes, it is that magazine!

I got to sit in this car last year at Goodwood Festival of Speed :D The current owner was explaining everything to me. Good guys! Sounds awesome

Nice! Fun read. And the fact it was an SA was a plus for me.
Thanks Jim!

I'm envious!

One day, soon, will spend the summer in Europe touring Normandy during the D-Day anniversary and then the trifecta of motorsports - Le Mans, Isle of Mann and Goodwood!

Great read! Always nice to read up on these fascinating cars. We need to start a thread on nothing more than articles about the 1st gen. From historic wins and races that the sa and fb were involved in. Maybe even some spec sheets on what parts these cars had installed. I like the strut tops on this sa.

Awesome read, thanks for sharing!

Good article, I think it is cool reading about FB history in stuff like this or IMSA. Very cool.

Thanks for posting this, I first read about this car when I started getting interested in the SA/FB. The SA/FB was definitely an extremely prolific car in endurance racing. Another interesting non-American car would be the Allan Moffat car which was extremely successful in Australian endurance racing.

Being newly interested in 1st gens I found this article. It's a great read and worth keeping at the top.

Funny how everything came together to pull off that win.

Definitely an interesting read.
