May 8th/9th SW Michigan Autocross

Hey guys

Last year we had 14 rotaries at this event! So far for this year, we have only 3 registered.

This is a great event for anyone, whether experienced or brand spanking new virgins. If you ever wanted to try this out, this is the event for it.

This is a two day event. If you are coming from out of town and need a place to crash Saturday night, just shoot me a PM. I have a huge back yard that is like a private park, and camping will be available. We usually do a BBQ and have a bonfire too, so its always a good time.

The entry fees are very cheap, under 20 bucks each day. Loaner helmets are available if you don't own one. All you need is a car in decent shape (no slop in ball joints or tie rod ends, no severe leaks, battery secured, etc.), and a valid driver's license. And you don't have to pay unless you actually show up, so if you think you can make it, then get registered. There is a limit on entries, and the field is filling up pretty fast. This event always "sells out".

As of right now, there are only 30 spots left to fill...

The event takes place about 15 miles South of Grand Rapids in a small town called Wayland. Under two hours from Chicago, probably three from Detroit.

Come join us, and lets turn this into a weekend rotary meet like last year.

DAMN!!

The car might actually be in one piece by then, but I will still be breaking the engine in. Let me know when the next 2 day event is and I'll try to make it out to that one.

How many miles will be on it? I'm sure we could get it properly broken in before the autocross with some late-night long-distance runs. Anyone down for a GR to Mackinaw City and Back run?

You really should make the trip over. The autocross in Wayland is a fun time (it was my first ever auto-x)

Chris, if you can make it over, you can race my car. :)

Take him up on it.

Don't think so. The engine isn't even done yet, and I will only just have it in by then, maybe. Plus I've taken too much time off lately and will have to take more off to get the car up and running, so I need to work. I'll be sure to make the next event.

Bummer. I was going to say, talk Sam into coming over, then hitch a ride. :)

His car needs some work too after blowing the diff. He's also swapping to RE-Speed stuff too, so we are both pretty much down for a bit. I will be hounding him to come with me when I am able to make it out there.
