Check the link for mine. The flying whaletail as it's called is NLA. There were 2 different dealer option version, both looked the same, one was a 3 piece, other was a single.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)
Amongst the "herd" of spoilers people bolt to their Beloveds, Mazda Japan only ever produced ONE OEM factory spoiler (not to be confused with US dealer knock-offs). Its the traditional "duck-tail" spoiler, made from a soft rubberized urethane (Dealer versions are either ABS plastic or, more common, fibreglass). Never offered for sale in North America, these spoilers were standard equipment in japan home market as well as europe.
If your interested, I (*ahem*) just happen to have a nice spare (I imported 2, one's a keeper) complete with all NOS OEM attachment hardware. Pics avai -
PM me if interested-

I love the lip spoilers. If I ever do a spoiler it will be the rear wraparound lip for sure.

Re-Speed.com 08-27-08 06:40 PM

.......and then we have the "lay out and sun yourself, overly exaggerated" version of those baby duck tail spoilers :)

omg Billy, what spoiler is that and does it only fit the widebody?

I know the old green and white IMSA (79) GTU maybe racer had one similar but if was for the stock car as it only had MASSIVE flairs

Attachment 720681

now that i look at it, they are very similar... where do you get it??

Viking War Hammer 08-27-08 06:59 PM

And on the other end of the spectrum, the Aeroworks not completely wraparound ducktail.

that big one looks alot like the mariah wraparound meant for widebodies

Kentetsu 08-28-08 06:32 AM

Billy- That's the spoiler I've always wanted for my car. If you have any more laying around, we may need to talk... :)

That spoiler is offered by Mazda Motor Sports. You have to be a racer or you can't order it. I think its something like 4-5 hundred bucks...

Re-Speed.com 08-28-08 06:38 AM

I purchased it used and do not think they are sold anymore. I would be interested to see if Mazda comp still sells it.

this is an old pic it was like that when i got the car dosnt look like that any more.

82transam 08-28-08 07:55 AM

This is the "factory" 3 piece IMSA spoiler that was available from dealers on 84/85's. I'm not sure who actually produced it, but I love it either way

Do they still make the Aeroworks spoilers? Where can I get my hands on one of those? I like the look of that one A LOT!

It is still listed in the catelog, so I would assume that means it is still available. It's been on my Christmas wish list for years, but the wife just doesn't love me enough to get it for me yet. :)

I believe selectmaz in aus also replicates it. Shipping is pricy though

that carbon fiber FB center console replacement looks spiffy.. might get that for my turbo setup considering I removed my AC a while back and its just taking up space in the front.

Awesome! I was expecting you to say they are no longer available. Can you post up more pictures of yours for me? I'd like to see some more shots of it if you have any.

j_tso 08-30-08 08:46 AM

mine's not even mounted yet.

I got that pic from this thread:

Heres a few pics of the fazz spoiler on my 79 . I think you''ll agree it has a real nice shape to it .

I haven't permanently mounted it yet , but I'm thinking about it .:)

PercentSevenC 09-05-08 01:38 PM

I've been debating between the Aeroworks spoiler and a wraparound duck-tail one.
