Whats the equivalent Koni shock part number for the rear shocks? I'd like to run Konis all around if I can. I know its basically the same as for a Mustang rear shock but not sure what year Mustang to spec.
I build some coilovers using the t3 stuff. I used some Koni rear shocks for a 84-85 mr2.
Below is the part number I used:
I had to shave some material off the bottom of the shock. It was too tall for the rx7 strut housing, the lock nut grabs treads but only like 4 or 3. But with shaving some material off you can shave enough off to have the lock nut fully threaded. I used the lock nut that came with the Koni shock. I read on here that supposedly the koni lock nut didnt fit the strut housing but it does.

The shock fits perfect after shaving the bottom in the strut housing. THESE WILL NOT WORK WITH STOCK CAMBER PLATES!! The shocks upper mount is a smaller diameter. I used t3 camber plates, when you buy camber plates they provide spacers for the shocks shaft.
First I had read this... So is a camber plate the same as a strut top as seen in Mazdatrix catalog? 34-390A-FA01 .So the KONI's will ONLY work with a Aftermarket camber plate and not OEM strut towers?

do these have an external adjuster on top?
how do they compare with tokiko illuminas?
I remember reading that someone (t3?) made an insert that allowed them to fit in the OEM FB strut tops. Probably not hard to make from some steel tube stock from lowsdepot.
This Koni shock is adjustable from the top, I had the tokico illuminas to me they where great. I have not had a chance to drive the car since the coilover install. I am still working on other stuff I wanna get done to the car before I start driving it.
When you buy camber plates from T3 they come with three sets of inserts to fit different size shock shafts.
