collapsed filter = fram? we cut a fram open once, not much filter in there....
yeah the oil temp on my PP seems to be ok, cereal box oil cooler duct and everything, it does help i'm only spinning it to like 6500rpm 6500rpm? Powerband isn't even starting if it's a ported MFR motor. |

Yupp, Fram equals bad, put a K&N filter on it now.
6500rpm? Powerband isn't even starting if it's a ported MFR motor. its fun as is, but i realize from 7000-9000 is another 50+ hp! |

i put a stock 12A air cleaner on it, and mufflers. it feels like it making stock 12A power by about 3k rpms, and then it starts pulling hard to like 6ish, then after that it kinda goes flat.
its fun as is, but i realize from 7000-9000 is another 50+ hp! The stock air box doesn't supply even the stock nikki with nearly enough air. I'm sure you know that though. What seals you running? I wouldn't run steels over 8500rpm. |
Two words: Destructive Testing.
Before I swapped out my engine, I had my original GSL-SE 13b with 97k miles that I had run to 83k or so a few times at WOT on the race track with absolutely no issues. I have found that engine to be pretty much bulletproof. I would not do it though unless you plan on swapping your engine. |

You could completely change that with a different air box, and header/exhaust etc.

I wouldn't run steels over 8500rpm. but yes, the new airbox/intake setup is in the planning stage, i want to run the comp setup, but my radiator won't move over far enough to do it exhaust is going to get redone too, the presilencers lasted 9 half ass laps. i also want to find the right header length on the dyno i'm running carbon seals, on a balanced rotating assembly, it goes to 11 |

the stock box should be plenty for any stock 12A, actually, if the P port is happy with it to 6500.

I'll take a picture of my Downing 13B PP header when I have a chance this weekend and PM you the pics, I also have a Downing Header made for my 12A Monster Port for a tube chassis car that I'm copying to fit into my car, the car the my Monster port is currently in. The primaries and collector is actually bigger on the MP header than the PP header, BION. Like I said, I'll take pics. On any periph, I stay with Ceramics. But I know, I know.. $$$$$.. |
yeah pics would be great! i just have RB headers now, i built mine based on the competition book, so i wanted to go with a 90" header, although its more like 72" cause i didn't tell the fab guy IT MUST BE HERE.
but since it melted, system 3.0 is in the planning stages, i was going to make it adjustable length, just so i could go to the dyno and get it right. |

Pictures as promised.
Last picture is of one i'm trying to sell, produces way to much power above 8000 rpm, and less broad power than the Downing. |

More. :)

interesting, that first one almost looks like a turbo manifold
